Terrier Club General Forum It's been awhile   Click to vote for your favorite post  From:  Message: David and Cooper May 11, 2008 at 15:40 It's been awhile Hi Everyone and Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there!! Cooper and I are doing okay, adjusting to life in Phoenix and getting used to very warm temps. We've almost hit 100 degrees a few times already but not quite. Soon that will be our normal! Cooper and I walk very early in the morning and again late in the evening. He just got over a urinary tract infection and I did the absolute worst thing, as far as he is concerned, I took him to the grommers. HAHA, he looks wonderful. I am looking for a single family house for us, Condo life is not for me. Sadly I am dealing with the news that my Mom back in Pennsylvania has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. She has really good days and bad days. I spoke with her today for Mother's day and she is having a great day. My sister lives with her now so that makes me feel good. Mom used to work with Alzheimer patients so she knows what will happen to her. A few weeks ago ahe said to me "I want you to come for a visit and bring Cooper, I want to see Cooper again before I forget him", that just made me cry. So a few prayers form my Mom if you can spare them. A prayer that she not suffer too much with this terrible thing. Thanks! Once you have had your own house and yard, its never the same in a condo is it? hope you find the perfect house for you and Cooper. Glad you are both doing well, and I do understand condo life isn't for everyone. So sorry to hear about your Mom. Glad she has family around her and you can get to visit whenever possible. So sorry to hear about your Mom, glad your sister is there. A very good friend of mine is now dealing with this with her mom, so sad to watch them disappear. Please keep in touch. My Dad also had AlZheimers....I am glad you are liking Phoenix so well and can sure understand that you miss your own home and yard. I know I would. So good to hear from you. ROO HERE! May 12, 2008 at 18:35 Re: It's been awhile David, We are so sorry to hear of your Mom's diagnosis. That is such an insidious thing -- I know as I went thru it with my Mom. I thought of her a million times yesterday. Even though our relationship was not always the best, I still loved her and do miss her so now. As for your housing, I think that you will find just the right thing. Luckily you have a "base" to search from and as you get to know the area better and better, you will know just where you and Cooper will settle. We will keep you in our thoughts that you find just the right place! Good to hear from you -- please don't stay away so long!
