Checking In
Hi Folks, We are doing fine and should be into our new home this weekend. We are staying with Mom's Sister right now. She has a little 4 month old YorkiePoo so I have been teaching him a thing or two. He is so tiny that when we play bite, his head disappears in my mouth!!!
We got to experience our first tornado storm since being back home on Saturday night. It went right passed where we are and we watched it. Had clear skies above us tho. Didn't even rain. I wasn't scared at all. Mom was wondering how I'd handle thunder and lightening.
I've had a bit of trouble walking in the desert and the yards around here. My pads are use to plush, soft, weed free grass and the sand, stickers and little pebbles are bothering me. I refused to walk out into my new yard the other day. When I had to, I tipped toed. Imagine a Westie tip toeing on all fours!!!! How long will it take for me to get use to the ground around here? Mom will get my yard in shape as soon as we get moved but in the mean time, I DON'T LIKE IT!!! I have seen lizards, rabbits, squirrels and many different type of bugs around here. It's sure different than Oregon. I'm settling in at my Aunts house right now and feeling better since the move. Once I get into my own house with my own things around me, I will be just fine and dandy again.

We've been wondering about you Elliot. We're so pleased to hear from you..As it turns out, you left Oregon just in time..Big heat wave on it's way. Today is cool and showery, by Friday it's supposed to be 95. There goes all those pretty Rhodys blooming right now.

Hey Elliot, my heartfelt sympathies!
When I moved from Southern CA to eastern PA, I felt like that about GRASS! Plus, I found out I was allergic to the durned stuff.
But wait till you see your first gopher or ground squirrel. The diggin' is good out where you are, and there are lots of vermin under ground!

Lovely to hear from you Elliot, sorry that you are not enjoying your new enviroment, but playing with the yorkiepoo sounds like fun. I am sure once you and your mum get settled you will find lots of things you do enjoy. Keep in touch.

hey elliot we are glad you arrived safely. tornado - wow i think we would be afraid that we would end up in kansas!! hehe
well i am sure once you settle in you will get used to it. we did. we were used to grass and neighbors and snow in massachusetts but now we have moles and cows and horses but we adjusted ok!

Westie tip toeing on all fours
I heard my mom laughing, she said my sister Stormie is right there with you when it comes to Westie's tip toeing on all fours, see she hates the sand.
This is part of the reason we have to take the Westie Wagon with us to the beach, she flat out refuses to walk on sand.
Tell mom to put in some flat stone walks for you.

Nice to hear from you Elliot. that must be a hard adjustment from plush Oregon grass to stickers n stuff. maybe some baby socks would help until you get to your new house. we dont like the sand and beach grass either when we R at Marina. the spear grass hurt in the pads.
