any ideas
I need any ideas that you guys might have about how I get Robin to sit and stay and how to put her in a down stay. I went to test for her therapy dog and the only thing she failed was her sit and down. She is not treat driven and I am at a lose as to how to get her to do it. buster was so easy, he his treat driven and knows how to sit and down
I am thinking of taking her to a dog trainer, we have a great one her and I hope he can help.
Any ideas would be welcome
thanks
sandi, buster and robin

Re: any ideas
I taught Gracie when she was a pup. She is not treat trained but when I would have her hold stay and walk around the house for a few minutes I did give her something. I have no idea how you train a dog if it is older. I'd have the trainer come over. They usually know just what to do.

Re: any ideas
I can sit!...But I do not do stay very long at all...in fact not much at all!!...Suckie sis the collie does it but Mummy and Daddy trained her from a Puppy....Collies are good at that....Mummy says she did it with walking away for short distances then longer and longer distances...sometimes she would be way across the field in the end and Suckie would still be staying there...then when she called her she zoomed over like a Rocket she said...I sure Robin will get there with you soon..Do let us know how you get on...Trub is us terriers are deaf sometimes when we want to be!! Luv Nimby xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
