Where on his/her body? Izabella had quite a serious yeast and bacterial infection up her front legs and front paws caused by incessant licking. She underwent tape prep test at the vets and was then treated with 3 weeks of antibiotics and 3 weeks of anti-fungal. The Dermatologist gave her a cytopoint injection which seemed to help. She was skin tested, blood tested but they couldn't find the cause of her itch so they feel it is something that is not on the test, so we don't know. We go to the vet now every 8 weeks for a cytopoint injection which seems to keep her licking and issues at bay. We did a lot of other things such as food elimination, special baths, trialled other medications such as Apoquel, Atopica etc. So I'd suggest as a first step go to the vet and ask them to do the tape prep, they use sticky tape to take samples from paws and legs and look at it under the microscope. Until Izzy's yeast infection was cleared up nothing else worked for her.
