Discolored beard & paws
"Benson" who is 10 months old has brown paws & a brown beard. Could it be the minerals in our tap water? Should he be given bottled water? He also bites at his paws. Does he have an allergy?. I would love to get him back to his original white. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Discolored beard & paws
Maybe and maybe. Seriously, paw chewing is a frequent sign of allergies, and also sometimes fleas.
Other than fixing those things if they are present, I found that 250mg vitamin C twice a day is great for getting the red out of beards - the discolored hair has to grow out, but then you are set. The color is from porphyrins in the saliva. (in case you wondered, hahaha, I am a fountain of useless information)

Rio's a bugger for licking at her feet on and off. They're browny too....I leave them but they both get Evening Primrose Oil for the "itchies" so prevalent in the Westies. XXX.

I give them Vitamin C. Good for them plus it gets their beards white.
