Agility Training for Westies???

Anyone out there have a westie (or other small terrier) who does agility, flyball, or those other sports? My westie has been doing agility, flyball, obedience, and musical freestyle for 6 years and she loves it! I just wanted to see what people had to say about westies in sports.

We don't do it but a member called Clarence does it. Have a look at his bio and you'll see his action photo !!

Oh yes Dutchess did agility, but for fun and not competition(which typically pissed the others off HAHAHA!) Hey there for fun!, and she does it HER way LOL! Stop because of her patella, we'll see later with smaller jumps etc. But in the mean time I have my makeshift one in the backyard. We are trying to locate a place to do earthdog~ I took her out to PA (we live in NY) and she LOVED it and took to it like a pro! Just having difficulty finding a place within a reasonable driving distance.

Look up Macmans bio too. Use the email and contact Ann. They are at an event almost every weekend. Ann is also a judge and can tell you where they are on whatever date you want. Have fun

Do you know what the Macmans' dog(s) names are? I would like to look them up to find their page. Thanks!

We have not done agility -- for one, no time and two, my two are such hooligans (wouldn't come even if you offered them pizza with haggis on it) BUT I think that Roo would enjoy it and it would burn off some of his excess, mischief-making energy AND maybe keep him out of the cucumbers!

Does anyone know of any sites with plans so that you can make agility things for the back yard??

I think that would be a good solution for us, especially Roo.

By the way, I would love to see the freestyle dancing. I saw it once on TV and it was so neat!

Heres a link to a page on making weave poles. THe links on it about training were really good, and more links to building other stuff. Weaves are the hardest for me, so I started there!

Happy "home improvement"

I can really help anyone out who needs equipment plans, since I write a column in our agility club's newspaper about building agility obstacles. Here are some good sites to look at:
dogpatch.org/agility (loads of neat stuff!)
agilityability.com (we have a page on here, it's http://agilityability.com/michele_valinske.htm)
cleanrun.com
Also feel free to email me with any questions.
