you should post in the General
topics more people will see it.
Your Dog is probably just sad because she lost her friend.

I would say if it's nothing medical, your Westie is missing the companionship it had.

At only 3 years of age I wouldn't expect her to be slow. Have you had her to the vet to see if she is still running an infection?? It could be life threatening if she is.

Please let us know how she is getting along. You will find this is a fine group and very helpful.

hugs to your girl,

Did you mean she was surgically spayed because of the infection or just made infertile? If she wasn't spayed she may still have the infection as was mentioned before.
It can take a long time for them to settle in, We have a little eight year old girl that has had a really hard time settling, and she does often have very sad eyes.
To be sure you should have her checked over by a vet.
Please let us know what you find out.

we have only just got her, her previous owners bought her for breeding but she got an infection and had to be spayed witch meant she could no longer have pups.
i think this was about 5/6 months ago now, they say she has been fine since.
she went to vets 2days ago for injection vet checked her heart and eyes ,nails, pads i asked her to look at her pads because she is very touchy there and has since started limping, she wont let me look at it. any how thanks to all of you..............ron and hazel,,and of course wickham

Wickham's a lovely name !! How did it go at the vet ? If she has something sore in her foot she'll be miserable for sure.

My Stormie had a bad infection when I got her, I took her to the vet and found out if she wasn't spayed she would die.
She was sad and slow moving at times, but this was a year ago and she was 7.
Now at 8 she plays and is a happy girl.
Yours being 3 years of age I would take her to a very good vet as soon as possable.
Always remember a Westie only has sad eyes when something is wrong.
Good luck and let us know what happens.
