Meet Shelby, our latest foster with our Westies

We would like you to meet Shelby, our latest foster. We have had foster Carins, but Shelby is our first foster Scotty!!!
We just adore her, and she has blended in with our little Westie Pack very well.
Shelby came from a shelter in mid Nebraska and her days were numbered. One of my Rescue friends alerted me and we got her on the transport to safety.
She arrived with a bladder infection and need to get cleaned up. Here is a photo of little Shelby with our Westie Ambassadors for Rescue.
We will have her in our care until she is well. She fits right in, but does not understand WHY Westie are so silly about Squirrels and DIG so much for critters!!!
Below is a link to a little photo album via OFOTO if you would like to view. Just sign in with your email address and make up a password & you should be able to view as a slideshow.
We have found so far, that our 3 Westies & Shelby have blended together very well.
Abby Lu and Winnie snuggle up with her on the sofa very quietly and so do our two Persians.

Sylvia...HMMMMMMM is right, Sylvia!!!
I just adore this little girl!!!
She has fit in so well with our little pack of Westies.
Shelby still cannot understand this Westie digging and squirrel chasing thing!!!
Our kids are all so sweet with her...
She does not feel very well yet and they are very gentle and cuddle up with her on the sofa....Especially, our Abby Lu....which just amazes me!!!

OMG, what a doll and your good will Ambassadors just keep on doing their good work too!

This fella won't last long. I love the black and white concept too--makes great photos with that contrast!

Oh, she is so cute AJ! I just love the black and white look. If my husband would let me get another one, I would get either a Scottie or a black Cairn.

Re: Meet Shelby, our latest foster with our Westies Reply to this Message

Oh, I am TRYING to convince Dear Dad...that she Belongs with our little Westie kids!!!!!
We are ALL JUST completely IN LOVE with Shelby....
She was quite ill when we brought her in...
She is on antibiotics..for her bladder infection...and is really feeling SO MUCH Better.
We will do MORE tests next week for Shelby.
I CANNOT imagine that she was going to be PTS...
at the shelter in out state Nebraska if not rescued!!!..
Thank goodness for Rescue Friends who let us know about dogs in NEED...and ONE more can be saved.
Spread the word to all of your contacts and friends...
I found Shelby by being connected with ALL BREED Rescue..and transport group in Nebraska.
Wonderful people..Could NOT have been able to share this positive News without knowing and working wiith so many wonderful Rescue Angels...
(Shelby came in on a transport to our home along with a cat who needed to go to her forever family in Minneapolis...by networking...in our Rescue group..it worked!!!)
:) :)
Shelby AND little Buddy, the Westie Poo also on the T.C. Rescue Message Board are Perfect Examples of how this DOES work to save...
Just one MORE...at a time...
We CAN HELP and make a BIG difference!!!
Did I mention that I REALLY LOVE this little Scottie girl, Shelby???
And so do Ralphie, Abby Lu and Winnie :)
Don't you think that Ralphie, Abby Lu and Winnie REALLY NEED a wonderful sweet Scottie Sister??

Shelby is such a doll! You are so lucky to have her and your wonderful Westies! I have to ask if you plan on keeping her or how could someone like me in P.A. adopt a dog from rescue that is located across the US? I have signed up for Westie rescue, but was told there are no dogs in my area that need rescued. Can you advise me? If you do decide to let this little angel go, please let me know! I would LOVE to have a female scotty for a little sister for my westie, Mickey!

All best,
Chris & Mickey

Re: Meet Shelby, our latest foster with our Westies Reply to this Message

Hi Chris,
Yes, you are correct, Little Shelby has stolen my heart!!!
I would have a difficult tome saying goood bye to her.
I would suggest you go in search for Westies and Carins and Carins that are in shelters.
Get to know the directors and the workers in these shelters..& volunteer to help the shelter.
Even it is just going to the shelter to walk dogs of ALL breeds and help socialize them to help them become more adoptable.
I have found that the Shelters in the area are now calling me when a Westie, Scottie or Carin in need comes in.
Many of these shelters are very high kill and they Welcome the help from Rescue.
Many do no vet care so the first thing I do is get the new Rescue to the Vet.
I would also suggest that you contact Scottie Rescue as Well as Westie Rescue and let them know of your desire to help & foster and perhaps adopt.

I know Kim who lives in Missouri has many Scottie, Westie and Carin contacts and I am sure she could help.

Just send me an email to: ajadesign@aol.com and I will send on more information to you.
Our Best,
A.J. , Ralphie, Abby Lu and Winnie and Shelby
