My Foster Experience

Well we took Bobby down toward Maryland where he'll go into more long term foster until his perfect forever home is found. I cried like a baby! OK ladies, how do you do it?! He stayed with me a week (under protest from the Grump LOL!). By week's end he came out of his shell shock and was with true westietude! Toy killing / destuffing (poor Dutchess!), playing and engaging in play, loving treats etc. He has wonderful house manners THANK GOODNESS! Wish he was a girl :) What a great positive first one. Mellowed the grump (stayed by her side always if not with me). May even let me do it again (just don't know when GRRR). Thanks to all in rescue to give me such an opportunity!

Re: My Foster Experience Reply to this Message

Yep I'm going to purchase a few "just in case" hehehe. I'll have to check col pot first. I know they are snug bugs more than girls but grump is more towards girls. The funny thing is she's more attached with boys for her children and got stuck with a pack of females and 1 boy LOL!

A shame he's being re-fostered just as he settled in....I hope they find him a great forever home.
Well done on looking after him.

I know! I soooo wanted to either keep keep or keep until forever home, but we are starting the next phase~ radiation with the grump. Not sure what to expect, and he's very growly and didn't want an incident if you know what I mean.

Re: My Foster Experience Reply to this Message

Yep, that is the way that it is with foster care. I have cried like a baby each time--and sometimes even on those that I have pulled for folks and just kept overnight--what a sap, huh?

When you know they are going to a wonderful home, though, it is so much easier. We got to meet the people that got Duffy (Sug) and they are just the greatest! We still get to hear about her occasionally. They are spoiling her rotten--just like we would hope she would be. And we KNOW that the other we got at the same time is being spoiled rotten too--with Tara.

So, it does get a little easier.

Re: My Foster Experience Reply to this Message

Tara, who fostered, fell in love and kept her, I might add--an occupational (????) hazard!

That would never happen at this house (do the names Mindy and Harley ring a bell??????).
