Re: Col Potter Status
Poor old Teddy Bear. He is so cute. BUt at 14, maybe he wants to stay with his foster. Can I send him a scholarship so he can stay comfy where he is? Change is really hard for the elderly (like me, I know). Email me.

Sponsor a Cairn
I sent the email, but if others are interested.. here's the sponsor a dog link.
if what you choose to spend is more than his expenses, the balance will be used for others who may be in need.
but you never know.. I adopted Frankie, a 13 yr old westie from being pts... and he has adapted really well... He's been here 6 mos now and does not suffer Edy da Sweeties foolishness (she is just 2 and a pest). and cairns can live a long time.. I have know at least 3 that were over 15 and one that was 17..
any of us that foster the older dogs, realize that it may be their last stop, and are ok with that. The best things we teach them are love and trust. But, as with Elijah, when the perfect home comes by, we glady let them go.

Re: Col Potter Status
How sad that the seniors are the ones with no apps. They still have time to give tons of love. I wish I could take them all.

Westie Rescue of California (ANFPO)
I just became a volunteer for the Westie Rescue of CA a not for profit organization and just went through my first relinquishment. What a joy to be a part of. This was so satisfying to be a part of. Thank goodness the original owner did not sell off or turn in this baby to a shelter! I am so proud to be a part of an organization that works for the benefit of the dog and only the dog. I urge all of you to become a part of the breed speciality rescue world. Mutts are not the only dogs going to the high kill shelters! These special terriers go there too! Be a part of this work in your area. Please check out the web site that got me hooked...www.westierescueca.com.There are many more in your local areas just surf and become a volunteer, donate or whatever you can, you won't regret helping a Westie or Cairn in great need! Westies and Cairns are great dogs but they are not for everyone. Unfortunately, people buy them because they look cute in OZ or on the labels of dog food and commercials! As Madonna sings, "everyone comes to Hollywood". But not all leave the same way they came! Help SAVE A WESTIE OR CAIRN now, in your local area. Even if it means just driving a dog to a foster home! You will be so glad you did this every time you look in the eyes of your own wonderful Westie or Cairn! They too, will know what you did for their own kind!

Re: Westie Rescue of California (ANFPO)
Carol, this is just so great to read. Congratulations to you here. Working rescue is like the "many hands make for a light load". There is so much that has to be done, and if you are able to do just a little, it sure adds up. Danielle

Yeah, I am like you Lynda. I will have to settle for sending money, or helping with transport, or something without too much contact. Too hard..
