Prayers for Teddy Bear

Teddy Bear is CPCRN's 15 year old cairn in foster care in Washington State.

From Karen, Foster Mama Boss: Teddy Bear is sick and not doing well. He has been a happy healthy little old man for the past two months but has taken a turn for the worse.
Ginny will take him to the vets tomorrow and ease his way over the rainbow bridge.
Please keep Ginny and Teddy Bear in your prayers and light your candles tomorrow. It will be a sad day for them.
Teddy Bear will be buried under a tree he loves to lie under at their home.

Re: Prayers for Teddy Bear Reply to this Message

Tonight, when talking to Ginny, we talked about Teddy Bear's progress of when he first came into rescue. Ginny plays a game with him in the back yard where she hides little pieces of kibble or food and he has to go look for it. She said his skin and coat are lovely now . . . what a far cry from when she got him. He has been loved greatly and other than it being his time now, which is highly understood, he has been a little old guy who found his home with Ginny and her family.

He goes to their cabin with them, they take him on walks in a wagon, and he is truly loved.

It's always sad to read of one making that journey to Rainbow Bridge.....There will be many TC little ones to help him cross...

I'm happy to know he found such wonderful love to share in his last months...

We shall keep all in our thoughts and prayers....

Hugs, Carolyn, Millie, Bonnie and (Ms. Taffy waiting patiently at Rainbow Bridge)

I'm so sorry that Teddy Bear is doing so poorly, but I'm glad to know he had such love these last few months. He will have a loving welcome at the rainbow bridge. Bless him and hugs out to Ginny. Marianne and Max

No Lynda, it wasnt something minor... here's a note about all we've been thru so far...

From Danielle:
Ginny did us all proud with Teddy. This little man was one click away from death months ago. Internal maggots, horrible skin, bad health, you name it. Teddy was nursed and loved back to health, and not only did he have a chance to be healthy for months (although the Vet kept saying that they were surprised he was still with us), but he had a wonderful chance of life in a family that included him in everything they did . . . and knowing that he was old (he is 15 now) they had his little wagon that they took him in so he wouldn't have to walk long.

Teddy was HOME and he was very happy for months, and maybe this was the master plan from the start. I'm really proud of Col. Potter for taking him in, in the first place, and we had a rough go at it for a while, not knowing what we would be facing on many a day as his health was treated, however, we continued with the treatments, KNOWING full well that this was most likely the way things were going to turn out due to his age and prior neglect. Teddy is going to be a Cairn Angel now, and Ginny already is.

So sad to hear this news. I am sure all was done that could have been done and luckily he spent the last few months happy, warm and with food that was provided for him.

My poor dear little Teddy Bear, I never met you, but I read your story and looked at your picture over and over again. I cried for you all afternoon, even though I know your way was eased by love.

How true the CP motto is, "saving one dog won't change the world, but it will surely change the world for that one dog".

Good by brave little one.

My dear friends. Teddy is over the Rainbow Bridge now. Please remember that without all of your loving support on all of our many fundraisers, that the Teddy's of the world could not have had such a wonderful ending since many rescue groups don't take dogs that are anything less than young and in good health. WE KNEW that Teddy was none of those when we said he would be a CP boy. You are blessed.
Danielle

From Ginny:
Dear Karen and Danielle,
Teddy and I have an appt with Dr. Moultry at 2:30 PST for Teddy to go home.
I will go straight from there to the mountains, our cabin. Thus I will not call you this afternoon, Karen. I will put Teddy's dear old, worn-out body in the wooden box, which he stood in during his wagon rides, and bury him on a hill near our cabin that looks up to the mountains. Cambo (our cairn) and I will stay at our cabin until Friday. Silly of me to think Teddy would be
lonely without us around.

I am so overwhelmed to have you as supports, mentors, and friends thru out our time with our old dear pal. I cannot tell you how much it meant to me
to visit with both of you last night. I cried a long time afterwards, just from the kindness and wisdom you gave me. You said all the important things that Jim and I needed to remember.

What a blessing Teddy had to be a part of the rescue network! He would not have had 5 months of good health and happiness if you hadn't offered this opportunity. Jim and I would not have had this opportunity to love Teddy.

Even tho Teddy was old, he was a creature of worth, valued by God. We will miss Teddy badly. He was our old kid and Cambo's gentle, loving ompanion.

Teddy says goodbye and gives you a little lick. Perhaps if you look up to the clouds tonight, you may see him playing and romping in the hills with the Good Shepherd.

In sincere appreciation and love,
Ginny

And thank you Ginny. It never fails to amaze me how giving and caring people can be. You are truly an angel.
