Ainsley update 11/11

Here's today.. sounds like she is doing great

from her foster mom:
Ainsley has come a long way and is going to have her eye checked Thursday also being spayed on Friday. She soars around the house after Carney so much, she doesn't even remember her rear leg is a problem. It's amazing how well she is getting around now, but sadly...her eye still looks unimproved. She walks on those hind legs all the time and begs to be picked up and held like a baby. She will even put her arms around your neck and hug you..... Oh, it's adorable!!!!! (I'm not falling in love with this one, am I?) She's doing better about going outside to tinkle since she's using the doggie door now, and I think this will continue to improve. She's not at all the sad thing I took possession of, but a bundle of joy and energy. I think this is one of the things I love about fostering, you see them at their worst and then see them become the dog they should have been all along. She's doing great and spoiled rotten :-)

What a doll! She looks happy in that photo. No wonder you are falling in love.

Are you going to fail Fostering 101? Sometimes it happens.

Sounds like she's being very well looked after indeed. I do hope her health issues improve. Couldn't the spaying have waited till her eyes and leg were sorted out ?

Lynda:
I suspect the spaying needs to happen as soon as possible. For one thing with a dog that is not an owner surrender, you don't have any clue what their heat cycle might be. Also, Ainsley is being fostered by a family who also breeds and shows Cairn Terriers so they have unspayed and unneutered show dogs in their home.

It certainly sounds like most of her health issues have resolved themself enough that they feel it is the right time to spay.

I'm wondering too if the eye exam the day before might be timed that way for a reason also. But I really don't know about that for sure. I'm sure we will hear from her foster mom, Ann as soon as she awakens. Ann is a SUPER amazing foster mom. I don't know what Col. Potter would do without her and her DH and daughter.

Wow, she sure does look happy. I can't believe that people do that to helpless little animals. It gets me so upset. If I ever win the lottery, I'm coming and getting every one of those pups. They are all so cute!

I wish there was some way I could give her a home, I know the first thing I would do is take her to Faiths vet.
