Ainsley's being adopted!!!!

From Ann...(I have removed some about the family who is getting Ainsley marked by ....)

I have been waiting since Sunday for the final word and finally got it yesterday (had to sit on my hands last night to keep from writing this) that Ainsley AND Carney have both BEEN ADOPTED!! and get this....by the same family. Luckily, I was asked to do a HV, found they were applying for Ainsley or Carney, and when I called to set up the appointment, the lady learned I was fostering both and asked I bring them along. I was given permission to do so and they feel in love with them both and decided they wanted both immediately (it would have been a hard decision for me to since they are both adorable). Ainsley and Carney are about the same size, the same age, and get along like 2 peas in a pod. She couldn't have chosen a better pair and believe me...these dogs will do without nothing!!! There are ... children .....who highly impressed us with their kindness and manners (which you don't see much of from young people these days). We turned the dogs loose (at their request) and they ran rampart up and down the stairs, chasing their 3 cats and eyeing their 2 guinea pigs. The lady commented she wanted them both so badly, she would take over the medical needs of Ainsley if she must and actually took her last cairn to the same doctor Ainsley is going to, before she passed away (only a few months ago). Both girls seemed to just love them all, especially the daughter who just couldn't put them down, and proceeded to beg for attention and actually didn't want to leave with us. I believe this was another of those "matches made in Heaven" since she actually stated she wanted 2 dogs before she knew I had them both and asked if we let her adopt two. Ainsley and Carney get along like litter mates, rolling around, chasing each other and just a perfect match for this family. We will probably deliver Carney tomorrow night (they are so excited and anxious to get them) and Ainsley is going back to the specialist tomorrow for a check up on her eye (which still looks awful). On Friday Ainsley is being spayed, so I thought it best Carney not be around her since they are inseparable and she is likely to encourage Ainsley to play rougher than she should, but as soon as she has recovered from the surgery and the doctor says it's alright, she'll be joining Carney in heaven on earth. I have no doubts that his family will do EVERYTHING necessary to provide for Ainsley's medical needs knowing up front what they may be, even if the eye must be removed. They are caring, loving people and can well afford to see her through all that is before her, and I'm sure ....will keep me fully informed of her status. This is a remarkable match between people and pets and Scruffy is doing his "Scruffy dance" for them both. Thanks for all the support you have all shown for these two, especially Ainsley, and I will gladly keep you all informed of her progress. I am personally tickled to death that they are close enough for me to stay in contact with (only 25 miles), and sure that .... will be calling often since she's been calling me 2 or 3 times a day through this final stage of the adoption. She has bought baby gates (at my request) and new beds and toys for them in preparation of their arrival. I hate having to deliver them separately, knowing it will mean my crying twice, but felt this was safer for Ainsley, and that is most important. I assure you all, I would not have encouraged this adoption if I'd had ANY reservations, but this seems to be a perfect forever home for them....now if I can get them to adopt me ;-) Thanks again for all the notes and letters about Ainsley's eye, they are going with her to the doctor tomorrow, and hopefully this eye can be saved. Continuing prayers for her would be appreciated and thank God there are still some really good people around.

Fantastic news! Great job everyone!

It sounds like a perfect match. I am so glad they will get to stay together. Two pups that get along that well should stay together.

Our Molly and Maggy did get along like that---for the short time we had Maggy Mae. That is a rare and blessed thing--let alone the terrific sounding family they are going to!

This is absolutely wonderful news. I hope you told her about us here at the TC so that Ainsley and Carney can join us here and we can hear all about them. This home sounds so wonderful. What a great feeling you must have in your heart right now! Lucy and Taz will be doing the happy dance when I tell them.
