Col Potter Year End Numbers
Before I put Michelles note.. here's my thanks for all your support.. without folks buying stuff from the mall, we could never have afforded doing this. Ive skipped most of her thanks to the internal volunteers.. corinne
Michelle's note:
Those who continue to support us financially by becoming “Foster Grandparents” and/or “Guardian Angels” for the neediest and most broken little ones of all. The Fund raising arm of this organization, so beautifully headed by our beloved Danielle, is the “lifeblood” of our efforts. Because, I can assure you that without continued, and increasing, funds….the Board would never be able to say….”ABSOLUTELY! Save that dog…we’ll work out the financial issues later!” CPCRN “loses” money on every dog we take into rescue (on average). Our requested adoption donations do not begin to cover the costs we incur to save them, to transport them into our arms, to make them healthy again…to feed them, spay and neuter them, test them and assure that they will finally, at long last, find their own “forever home” in one of our approved home’s loving arms. This organization, like so many volunteer organizations, relies on the kindness and generosity of so many people. THANK you for every penny every one of you has donated to the DOGS this year!!!! They have no voice…but they raise their paws in tribute to your love and devotion.
Now for the amazing part. The “WOW” report for 2003. And “WOW” is the perfect word for it. The following numbers represent what I like to refer to as the “AAA” arm of the organization. Applications-Approvals-Adoptions are their speciality….and my-oh-my how well they all do their jobs!!!!!
Monika’s Intakes Team’s 2003 numbers:
233 DOGS TAKEN INTO OUR PROGRAM…..let me repeat that….CPCRN took in 233 dogs in 2003 !!!!!!!!
Joanie’s Communications Team’s 2003 numbers:
610 Applications Received by ONE woman….Joan Aycock!!!!!!! Whew! 213 Applications rejected for being incomplete and/or not meeting our adoption requirements 400 Applications ASSIGNED for a Reference Check!
Vicki’s and Amy’s HSI Team’s 2003 numbers:
287 Applicants assigned to their Team for an HSI 14 Deleted by the applicant – adopted or purchased elsewhere – decided against adoption, etc. 10 Applicants who requested that they be put “ON HOLD” 19 Applicants who were DENIED by the Adoption Committee after an HSI was filed 15 Applicants in process at year’s end
Karen’s MatchMakers Team’s 2003 numbers (represents 69 days of their existence as a Team):
74 Approved homes assigned to them for matching 34 Dogs/homes matched and adopted 8 Applicants no longer interested in adopting 52 Approved homes in the process of being matched with a dog at year’s end
YEAR END CPCRN NUMBERS:
233 Cairns (and Cairn mixes) taken into our loving arms in calendar year 2003 9 Cairns crossed the Bridge this year. L 37 Cairns were in our program as of 12/31/2003 187 Cairns ADOPTED TO LOVING HOMES in 2003!!!!!!!
Let me put these unbelievable numbers in simpler terms:
CPCRN rescued (saved) a dog once every 1.57 days this year. A dog every day and a half. Monika’s Team is amazing. And so is she!
CPCRN adopted a dog to a loving home once every 1.95 days this year. A Cairn found a forever home every other day!!!
CPCRN performed an in-person HSI once every 1.48 days this year. One every day and a half!!!
CPCRN took in and reviewed a new Application at the rate of 1.67 EVERY DAY. Almost 2 per day, 365 days per year! JOANIE, what can I say?
CPCRN completed a RefCheck at the rate of approximately 1.10 per day. More than 1 RefCheck was completed every day this year!
When all is said and done, we RESCUED a dog every day and a half, and we did all the grinding, behind-the-scenes work to find, approve and adopt our Cairns to their own “forever homes” better than every other day.
These numbers take my breath away. And I can say to EVERY person who helped us is THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.
And from the bottom of theirs!
Hugs and Love,
Michele

Re: Col Potter Year End Numbers
I am in awe! This is most impressive. It is kind of sad that so many need your help but since they do, isn't it wonderful to have carrying folks like yourself there to help them.

...It is kind of sad that so many need your help...
In truth, we've helped more.. we do get calls where we can help the owners with behavior problems... so that the home they have STAYS their forever home... sometimes rescue is helping the owner KEEP the dog.

Re: Col Potter Year End Numbers
Corinne - that is even better isn't it. Too bad more people don't think to get help before they just dump them off. The ones that are really sad is the seniors who are owner surrenders. How can they do that?
