New WRM Rescue
Take a look at this sweetheart. "Putter" is a mill release. The lucky lady is now with Brenda and Tom where she will be pampered until that special family takes her home. She is a Westie but is just very dirty.

Re: New WRM Rescue
We have been in close contact with Brenda several times today about "Putter", whose new name will be SAFFI. It is Scandinavian for "wisdom", as I am sure she is a very smart little girl. I hope I am not violating any WRM rules, but it seems as long as everything goes well with her vet visit tomorrow (and spay) she will be moving in with Homeless & Shani -- We just returned from the pet store and bought her a harness and her first very own floppy eared puppy. We are all very excited (the whole family is - as you can tell)..and can't wait to hold and love the poor little gal!!!

Re: New WRM Rescue
I have recieved quite a few pics of Putter/Saffi and she has a very sweet face (and a disposition to match I hear) - poor little girl's one ear will never pop up - too many uncared for ear infections - she is about 5-6 yrs old & she has never been out of her cage her whole life so grass, concrete, steps...everything is new to her....her body is pretty "robust" - her legs will catch up as she gets exercise ( Shani will take care of THAT!) - the staining will grow out - one of my best friends is the "kids" groomer so Auntie Gay will take good care of her making sure she stays beautiful...and as far as love...as you can see...she alreay has lots of that waiting for her. I have to speak at the local Humane Society meeting tonight about Boomer Times involvement with helping unwanted dogs find good homes and I can't wait to tell them about my new little gal!!!!

Re: New WRM Rescue
Brenda told me that I wouldn't get in trouble for Carley "blabbing" about her new 4-legged little sister! The sweet little girl pictured above is coming to live with us probably this weekend! Along with her little sister, Shani-poo-butt English, and her older brother, Homeless-Motown English - this little gal will have a proper name too - Saffi-foo English. We already have a leopard print puppy bed, a harness, and a "first toy" waiting here at home for her - along with her new Mommy. "Aunt Carley" (Zoe's Mommy) wil be going along with me to get the little gal and bring her home. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures I will show you all her new pictures and her new family!!! Rose English

Re: New WRM Rescue
I did my presentation (along with Howard - our Editor & Carley - Zoe's Mom & my Asst. Sales Director) I told them about "Shani's Shelter" for the St. Charles Humane Society and - I mentioned our involvement with Westie Rescue...I also went into detail about the Tenn. mill bust - what info I know thus far - (just so you know - where this witch lived is a verrrry elite area of Tenn. - STARS live there!! I was there a few weeks ago to interview Michael McDonald who lives in Franklin where the mill is/was!!!) anyway - I told them all about Saffi & when I finished I was applauded & they promised to name their next 2 shelter dogs after us - "Rose" & "Boomer". Somebody has to be the "kids voice" & in St. Charles Missouri it will be Boomer Times - next issue will have a big article on PUPPY MILLS!!! - hopefully we can get lots of unwanted pets and Westies into loving homes! Thanks for your support, guys. I can't wait to get my new little girl!!! Rose English

Oh, you live in St. Charles County, MO. I am very familiar with their shelter. I was there 30 days waiting my execution but alas, I am now a happy and almost healthy guy living in South Alabama with my brother Mulligan. Good work you are doing Rose.

Re: New WRM Rescue
I got some unhappy news about our little girl this morning from Brenda....but there is a silver lining to the cloud....it seems that she has a possible lung problem....but the worst is..they are 75% sure the poor little thing is pregnant again, so she couldn't get her shots or anything. She will have to be tested again in 2 weeks to be sure about the pregnancy, but it looks like the poor baby will have to go through it one more tiime. At least this time she will be well cared for. Brenda mentioned a little guy that came in with her. His name is Mojo and he was released from the same mill. He is about 10-15 lbs and 4-5 yrs old. It looks like Shani & Homey are getting a "brother" instead of a "sister"......for now anyway. (P.S. - Thanks for the good words on the article - I appreciate it) - if I raise awareness in 10 people about these crummy puppy mills and the people that mascarade as human beings that run them I will have accomplished my promise to these poor dogs who have been sentenced to living their poor pitiful existance there.

Re: New WRM Rescue
I was so sad for Rose this morning when I had to call and tell her about little Putter, but we just decided that everything happens for a reason and this little bump in the road is no exception. Putter will stay safely with me for at least a couple more weeks until her lungs clear up. The vet thinks it may be pneumonia or bronchitis. Then we can check her again for pregnancy, since the test first showed negative and then it showed positive so I guess that is as inconclusive as it gets. Oh, my but she is such a sweet thing that it really hurts me that she had to live the way she did for all those years. She never deserved to live like that. Brenda

Re: New WRM Rescue
If she is pregnant, she'll have great care and her pups will grow up OUTSIDE a mill environment. Like CPCRN's Madison and Athena, Putter will know care during her hard time. corinne
