Paddy had gone to the Bridge
From his foster parents...
Dear all,
It is my sad duty to inform you that Paddy passed away peacefully at 1:30 am this morning.
He went downhill quickly yesterday, to the point where he could no longer stand by himself. Colleen and I spent a number of hours with him yesterday, and gratefully he appeared to be comfortable and in no pain during his last moments.
I am sure that those of you who had met Paddy, or knew of him, will share in sorrowing for him. Yet it is also time to be thankful. Paddy's 17 years 3 months 28 days is certainly more time than allotted to most cairns, and by all accounts, he (quite remarkably) enjoyed good health throughout.
We are also thankful that Paddy was able to die naturally, on his own little bed, and in familiar surroundings.
Paddy was a distinguished little gentleman with impeccable manners. I know he provided many years of companionship to his previous owner, and we counted it an honour to have his company for at least a short while. He should certainly be an inspiration as to what a "senior cairn" can be, and we won't soon forget him.

Re: Paddy had gone to the Bridge
Justin & Colleen, I shed tears for your loss of Paddy and understand how empty you must feel without him. Paddy was well loved and he knew it, he will be waiting for you when it comes time for you to cross the Bridge too.
Dear sweet Paddy, run free through the meadows and when you meet up with Sara and Max please let them know we still love and miss them.

Re: Paddy had gone to the Bridge
I just read Paddy's story and all the subsequent posts. It sounds as though he inspired love in all that knew him. What a special fellow he must have been. Prayers to all those that cared enough to make his last months safe, comfortable and happy. Laura
