Terrier Club Rescue Forum Reanna and Cadell  From:  Message: Corinne October 08 at 14:45 Reanna and Cadell Reanna wasn't supposed to be MY foster, she was only here for a bed and biscuit overniter during a transport to her foster home. Her transport ended when she and Cadell saw each other, and I realized they knew each other well. I was given permission to foster Reanna at my home. Understand these two girls came from different mills, at different times, but they knew each other and Cadell seemed to reassure Reanna that we really weren't bad people. I like to think they could be mom and daughter - they have the same light color hair on top of their heads, the same teeth, but we will never know. I do know they are a comfort to each other. Reanna is a small cairn, very alert, but very timid and very fast. Her large eyes bore holes in your soul, wondering what fears lie in wait for her. If any of my dogs bark, she runs and hides in fear.. and due to her tiny size, she has found spaces I never thought a cairn could hide in. When you can't find her, look in corners and crannies first. Her tense body needs the soft body massage your fingers beg to share. She is learning dogs can be yelled at but not hurt, picked up and not punished, that food and water are plentiful. It will take a while for her body to not feel like skin and bones, but that day will be soon. She is like a ghost visiting, you know she is there, but if you look directly at her, she freezes hoping to not be seen. When you look away, she watches your every move, hoping to anticipate anything she needs to run from. She is learning to cuddle, she naps during the afternoon with Cadell and they are a sight to make your heart warm. She sleeps quietly in her crate at nite - coming out in the morning dry and clean. She accepts cuddles from men or women with equal nervousness, but doesn't run if placed near you. Reanna needs a gentle home to help her overcome her fears, and would probably prefer having a dog companion as well. I've put a bunch of pics on webshots...
