A sad day in WRM Vote for this post

May 3, 2005

Many of you may remember Rocky ( Read Rocky's story at: http://www.westierescueofmissouri.com/rocky.htm ). Rocky is a rescue who found his furever home with WRM at Luann and Bill Johnson's home due to the syndrome he was born with. Luann and Bill have cared and treasured Rocky as their own ever since. This past weekend, Rocky took a turn for the worse and Luann made a mad dash to the ER for his lethargic and unresponsive behavior. He was examined and blood work drawn - which showned nothing abnormal (for Rocky). He was sent home to be observed over the next 24 hours. About 7am this morning Luann was once again off to the emergency room as Rocky was declining quickly. The vet asked that she leave him there to be observed and treated accordingly - we received the following just a couple hours later from Luann.

It is our hope that you hold Luann, Bill and sweet little Rocky in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days.

Rocky was only four years old. He will buried on Luann and Bill's farm under his favorite tree. You can send your condolences to Luann and Bill at: WestieRescueMo@aol.com .

Memorials may be made via WRM's Special Guardian Angel Fund at: http://www.westierescueofmissouri.com/guardian_angel_fund.htm

Thank you for your continual support,

Angie Jamison

Subject: Rocky is gone

Dr. Hirsh called and said that the Kartagener's had caused hydrocephyalis, which explains Rocky's trance like state. It had also caused his intestines to shut down and his gut was sloughing off. There was no way that he could recover from these things.

I'm pretty upset right now, but I will be okay with some time.
Luann
