Help save Christmas
Ok this is not a LWD but deserves a home non the less. Christmas has been at this shelter for 2 months and her time is up. She is in Sikeston the far sotheast corner of MO. They have agreed to hold her for us until 9/5 if I overnite her adoption fee today. She is 600 miles from me one way. I thought with Labor Day weekend coming up and lots of people traveling perhaps some one might be able to help get her part way to me in Des Moines IA. St. Louis would be good Kansas City would be great! If not I will be going the whole way to save her. If anyone can help please email me at kfitzg1770@aol.com.

I live in IL, so I would not be much help. My mom has a pettite bassett, he is about 12 now, I cannot tell how AWSOME these dogs are, no joke, he is so laid back, likes everyone ( unless however he gets some leftovers from the refridgerator, that he opened himself and you try to get it out of his mouth!!LOL) I sure hope someone is close that may be able to help!!

Oh I forgot to mention how amazingly smart they are, OMG he is like a person, and not just like my two, he thinks before he does anything, its scarry almost, we swear he is a long lost relative living a dogs life with my mom now--

Smart is an under statement! We think they are the 2nd coolest dogs behind the Westies & Cairns. And thier eyes are almost human.

Besides Teresa I have not found anyone to help. But the shelter has been awesome. The adoption fee has been sent and she is safe. They hav agreed to hold her until the 10th for me now so I will be going to get her.

She won't be doing the whole trip by herself if I can help it! LOL I just sent her a message that I will go to Sikeston to pick up Christmas, then meet her in Columbia MO. That way we each will share almost half of the driving.
My boyfriend agreed to go with me because I get so sleepy when I drive long distance. We are just trying to firm up the date, times and details with Kris.

Thanks for saving her...I had actually seen her picture on Petfinder. I really like that breed....I did a transport with one a few years ago, and she was the sweetest dog. Good luck with her!
