UPDATE on Miracle!
Here is an update on Miracle that was posted yesterday. Also our volunteer was able to get some pictures. Thanks again for your support and prayers at this time.

Miracle is hanging in there! He has been shaved down so that the vet staff would better be able to see, clean and treat all of his many wounds. Miracle is currently on a heavy dose of antibiotics and pain killers. At this point, the vet is leaving his many wounds open rather than closing them up to give them a better chance to drain and heal with less chance of further infection of being closed and trapping bacteria and infection within.
Lisa, a member of the Rescue Team and Foster Mom, is the angel who rushed over to the shelter yesterday upon Intakes call to pick-up Miracle and get him to the vet. Lisa went back today to visit Miracle and see what was left of the dirty, matted Cairn boy she delivered yesterday. She reported that Miracle still looks pretty miserable and smells awful, but he was interested in her and perked up when talked to. Lisa also took a couple of pictures of Miracle, who she assures us really is a Cairn -- albeit a naked one now. You can see the large dark spot that starts on Miracle's chest. That's the 3" hole that continues right into his leg. Then on the back side of the same leg, you can just see the dark spot that is the 1" hole that connects. Various other wounds are plainly visible on his head, chest, legs and back. Currently Miracle has nerve damage in his legs. Hopefully once he heals, so will the nerves and he will once again have use of his front legs.
Miracle is in a large run, not a crate, so he has plenty of room to stretch out and move if he wants to. He has also eaten some and drank water, both good signs!
Please keep those prayers coming for Miracle ... they've gotten him this far ... we need to get him the rest of the way!

Poor little angel, his eyes look so sad. I hope now he is in a safe and loving place he will start to heal his soul and his body.
We will keep little miracle in our prayers.

Such a trooper! I will be sure to add Miracle to my prayers. Hopefully this terrible incident won't break his spirit. Thanks to all those at CP for going those extra miles...

Well unfortunately, he will smell for a little while. My Mini Schnauzer was attacked by 2 German Sheperds - she had an odor for a bit. That's from the wounds Miracle got.
What happened to the dogs that attacked him? I know the owners dropped him off but I was wondering about the attackers.
