May 24 update on Miracle
Spoke with the doctor late this afternoon ... she is very pleased and hopefull with little Miracle's progress!!! He is eating and drinking and moving around which she all takes as VERY positive signs for our boy! They have even switched him over to oral meds for the pain and antibiotics instead of injections. At this point, they see no complications, but continue to monitor him closely and will continue with the current protocol until the beginning of next week. If there are no complications or adverse reactions to anything, then next week, they will assess if he is strong enough to withstand being put under at which time they will suture up some of the larger, still open wounds, do a dental and neuter Miracle. The vet estimated Miracle to be somewhere around 7-8 years old. All in all, this is a wonderful report on Miracle and the best we could have hoped for this boy. To think that he would have been PTS by the shelter and even the vet when he first arrived on Monday, after initial examination, suggested the same for Miracle. Today the vet told me she was glad Miracle was with us and glad we made the decision we did for him and that we could provide him with the care he needed. She's not the only one ... so am I. Miracle is only alive today thanks to Col. Potter and the wonderful and generous volunteers that support these little furkids. Miracle isn't able to say the words, but if he were, I know he'd say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone for helping to save his life!

Re: May 24 update on Miracle
So glad to here the little gentleman is on the mend.
I hate to think of how many fine little furkids wouldn't be with us if it wasn't for love and hard work the rescue people and vets do.
