yogart for skin problems? Vote for this post

I would like to know if anyone has found plain yogart to be a remedy for skin problems with Westies. Someone I know who has one gives her dog two teaspoonfuls per day and swears by it. I understand they sell bones with yogart in them too. Anyone have suggestions?

I think it would be good for them. My girls won't eat plain yogurt so I give them 2T cottage cheese instead. I refuse to give them the sweet flavored kind. I'm not sure about it helping skin problems but someone here will know.

Thank you. Mister Beasley is scratching a bit more lately. I was wondering if perhaps it was because of the food. I give him Iaams and also Maxium mixed together. I also have given him that Little Cesar dog food. Just half of the little container. Does anyone feed that to their terrier?

Nessie's been working on her front paws more so than usual. I'm switching her back to the Ultra Max with salmon and lamb. Can't remember when I ran out of that food and started another "flavor" of the Ultra.
The vet gave me some antibiotics but that doesn't answer what is causing this and these little babies have skin allergies.

I think it's OK as long as it's lowfat.

So you say it is good for the skin? Great! I think that conditioning with the bath is important too but now that the weather is breaking to nicer days,Mister Beasley wants to go out more. Thanks all!

I give low fat live yoghurt to my basset. It is very good for any type of yeast infection and really does control that houndie smell. He gets 2 tablespoons 2xdaily.I cannot give it to my little westie Daisy however as she does not get any dairy products. Many people swear by it.
