Housetraining (a rescue dog) or any dog! :)
Housetraining a mill dog can be tricky - but not impossible. :)
The one thing you will have to do is stay out longer - sorry - but she will go eventually. May have to get started 10 minutes earlier. Walk about the yard in a quick pace, get things stirred up in her. :) Perhaps even get a bike out and ride about. :)I hope you have a privacy fence. LOL Anyway, she'll either go during that exercise or right after. When she does her business, praise her like there is NO TOMORROW! :) Even if the neighbors think you are silly, do it. Just tons of praise! :) Give Dundee praise as well - she may pick up on that. :) So, when Dundee goes praise and shower him with affection. This will make HIM think he is one perfect dog. :)
When inside, the sure way is tethering her to YOU. This creates a bonding, but it also teaches you her schedule. If she starts to go, tell her no, no, no (no harsh tones - remember, she hasn't a clue what she is doing wrong) ...hurry her up to the door you wish her to go to - don't carry her - she needs to know the route. :)
Take her outside and when you have her in the area you wish her to go - say the que word and tell her GOOD GIRL.... my dogs know what "Get busy" means. :)
Once accomplished, go inside and clean up the mess without scolding her. Keep her teathered to you.
Now, I have a doggie door which is wonderful. However, I did train Gracie with bells on the door and to this day, she'll still go to the DOOR and ring the bells. LOL.... heaven forbid if she walked across the room to the doggie door. Old habits, I suppose. :)
Anyway, one last thing... feed her at a scheduled time until housetraining is underway. They say two weeks without an accident is a sign that its sinking in and you have success.

Sleeping Issues
hi all, I don't know if any of you have ever had this problem, but my one year old Boxer isn't sleeping throughout the night, which results him in wandering around the house or trying to wake me up in middle of the night. We are pretty active, so I don't know what more I can do in that department. I've though about getting him one of those unique dog beds so he can feel like he has a reliable place to be at night. Anyone have any advice??

Re: Hannah
Have you tried putting him in a crate with maybe something that he really likes in there with him? Maybe after a few nights, he will learn to sleep at night. I haven't ever had this problem, but I started out with my girls in the crate at night for several months. They still like to go in there on their own as they feel like it is their special place that is only their private place.
