panting
Since the day we brought jasper home, I have never seen him pant. he always breathes through his nose and only opens his mouth to yawn, chew, etc. today he is panting like crazy, I thought he was thirsty, he has water always available, but i took him to the bowl anyways for him to get a drink and he did drink. But he is still panting. he is energetic as always and doesnt seem to be sick. My question is: Is it typical for them to just start to panting at a certain age? could he be sick? or should i be worried?does anyone know about this? I know that it is normal for dogs to pant, i just have never seen him do it.

Re: panting
Panting can have many reasons, one of them is pain. I would ask the vet, just to make sure. Oh, and sometimes when they feel nauseous, they pant, too.
Please keep us updated.

Re: panting
I agree the panting can be from pain but it may not be anything. I'd at least ring the vet up and ask them. I'm such a worry wart myself, I drag mine in for the least little thing. Good thing my vet doesn't always charge me...

Re: panting
Sparky excessively pants when she's afraid, like when there's fireworks or thunder. I saw your post regarding his teeth, but I don't understand why losing them would make him pant. XXX.

Re: panting
How warm is your house? They do wear a furcoat and sometimes it can get too warm for them. I've noticed this with my furkids. Kay
