Westies and Yorkies together
I am wondering if anyone out there has a westie and a yorkie and how the two get along?
I am a westie person and my husband is wanting a
yorkie too.
I'm concerned if the westie would think a yorkie would be a rat or squirrel since they are smaller? I wouldn't want either of them hurt.

Yes, I've had both breeds for many years and no problems. I've actually had more issues between my Westies than with the Yorkies and the Westies.

Hi,
Heather has a Westie, Becky, and just got a sweet lil' Yorkie puppy named Holly.
I think they posted under General.
I have a Yorkie-Poo and a Westie who didn't get along great at first, but are now the best of buddies.

I have two young Westie boys that spend a good deal of their time every day hunting rabbits, squirrels, and rodents (we live in the country). They are very successful hunters and their prey drive is quite strong. I rescued a Yorkie in Sept. They get a long well and have all slept in bed together since day one. Hope this helps.

There are Logan and Katie and also Angie has 2 Westies and 2 Yorkies as well so they seem a popular combo.

My mom used to have a Westie and a Yorkie and the Westie would attack the Yorkie. But he generally attacked any other male dog, so do not go by that experience.

Unfortunately Becky my westie still is not getting on with Holly the Yorkie, but I dont think it has anything to do with the breed, just jealousy. Almost at my wits end at this stage!!!
