Re: how short is too short?
Try chucking a ball around on concrete for him to chase and they'll soon get sanded down, Jacky. XXX.

Re: how short is too short?
Oh the dreaded nail clipping! I cut the furkids nails between grooming, but I probably am overly cautious. If he has lighter nails you will be able to see where the quick is, but if they are dark it is harder to see. I bought some little clippers that make it easier, but it's still not my favorite thing. My old vet was very close and they only used to charge $5 for us to pop in and have a tech. clip their nails.....I thought that was a bargain.

Re: how short is too short?
You can take your pup to Petsmart and they will clip the nails. Most Vets will also do it.

I m learning to Dremel and it really helps us all. They are calmer and so am I! Helps if you set the treat box within sight and reward after each paw! We are all happier.

Re: how short is too short?
Foster Grandma showed me her clippers that have a like a "bumper" or "guard" on them that helps to prevent cutting too short. They have a green handle. I was able to find a pair at Petco and did have beginner's luck with Nessie's nails. Not brave enough to try Sarah's...will take more practice.

Re: how short is too short?
Just take the ends off them not to much. I do this between grooming visits.
