You never guess where we are
This is the front door of a very old farm in fact it was build in the 1400 hundreds. It was redone and is very modern in the inside but they have to leave it the same on the outside. It is in our Mama's Papa's family.Mama took the pictures when she last visited and we thought we share it with you. Love, Moshe & Levi

Re: Sherrie
It is a roof made if a special tree like a broom comes from a tree so this roof stuff is also made from a tree but stronger. It is fire hazard and you have to have it redone after a lot of years. My grandmother on my mothers side also had one she used to live in a Toll house with a big garden and water behind it. When thunder would come while we was staying with her we had to wait in the kitchen with our coats on just in case. It is still being used on farms& houses . When the farms/houses are old there is a organisation that makes you keep it the way it is but you can redo the inside to your liking..

Oh my, it looks so beautiful and tranquil there! I'm also wondering what material the roof is made of! I had to smile when I saw the gnome beside the front door--I just love garden gnomes! Love, Deb and Kelsie, my Angel Girl

Re: Deb and Kelsie, my Angel
The roof is made of Thatch that grows by the rivers and lakes on the sides . They cut and bundle it up. When fresh it is less dark but over the years it gets darker. It is a art to be able to make a roof like that. My grandmother on my mothers side also had it.Hope that explains it.
