Re: Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie
Thanks Deb for calling me beautiful and talented. ASm back quilting again am cutting materials for several quilts all from scraps. I have so much material I good nearly open a shop so I told myself no more material buying and making do what you have. My old friends in Texas keep sending me boxes of material they both know I am scrap crazy . I do not know what it is but a scrappy quilts pull me in right away in a quilt show..You can't see it on this picture but the background is a water color back ground from Dark on the bottom till the light pieces of the sky. The six pointed star has also different value points depending on the back ground. It was the hardest quilt I ever did but I enjoyed making it. It also brings great memories I took it with me to my parents house when visiting my parents. My Mom saw it and wanted to know what I was doing.I sure miss her a lot and my Dad too. I send you 2 emails band google tried sending it for 2 days but they would not except it. Just want you to know. Love, Yoka,Moshe and Levi xoxoxoxoxo

Re: Caesar and Murphy Latham
Thanks Louise for your compliment. I will take a new picture so you can see the whole quilt. I named this : 'My Magen David star'. The star of David. It took a very long time to make to make sure each value of color was in the right place..I have made lots of large quilts but this is my most favorite one and the English Cottage one.. Glad you liked it also Louise. Love, Yoka

Re: This is a old picture
That is a beautiful quilt and I can just imagine how difficult that was. The cutting alone must have taken forever never mind the piecing time. Great job by a very pretty lady. I am still quilting myself - just finished one and starting the next. Once it is quilted, I'll try to remember how to post a picture. Being retired now I fill my time, to a great extent, on cutting and piecing and love the finished product. Continued success for you and look forward to seeing more of your talents.

Re: Sandy & Layla
So glad you like it Sandy and yes it took a very long time to make. I used English piecing with freezer paper. You draw the design on the freezer paper and cut it out . Than you iron it on the back of the material. Than you fold it over and baste each piece. You make a row for audition . If it looks good than you sew the row. I check the value of the row before I sew it together. It is very time consuming. I love hand work and have lots of patients. Glad you are still quilting too. Did you see my pyramid quilt hand pieced 1048 pieces also hand made. That was my last one and it must still be here on the TC. Was hand quilting it but it would take 20 minutes getting the thread through the needle and I did not like the stitches they was not even so my friend quilted that one by machine for me. I will enter it in 2016.. Hope you post your quilt too Sandy. Love to you and little Lyla xxxooo

Re: Nimby Sue
Thank you for the compliment.I used the English piecing it takes a lot of time but is the most accurate. I always loved hand work even appliqué. Can no longer do it it takes to long getting the thread through the needle now . I have no longer depth of perception. I used to do embroidery too but can no longer do it. Now I make lots of scrap quilts and am thrilled I can still do that on good days by machine.i also crochet I just finished a baby blanket and this person is expecting twins so am making now the second one. She is expecting a boy and girl. Feel sorry for her she is 36 years old and will not marry the guy he is too immature. Her parents are dead and her only family a sister lives on the other side of the USA. The babies should arrive in early February. Am glad I can do something for her and can help baby sitting too lol. Love, Yoka xxx
