REAL LIFE ADVENTURE
Doggie Walk to benefit no-kill animal shelter
Saturday June 14
Cobleskill, NY
We are looking for as many Westies and Cairns as possible to show upstate NY what REAL dogs are --- and to benefit a good cause.
Not a cyber-event guys and gals, this one's for REAL!!!
Mom says if you need more info check the board (beyond page 1 now probably) or e-mail her!!!
So far we've got Katie, Kinsey, Reggie and Roo. Looking for 96 more.
Come on guys, it'll be a great adventure!!!

Of course living in Oregon we will not be there, but you are in for some real fun. Come September, we plan on walking those streets in Portland with 250-300 Westies, in the fourth annual Dove Lewis Westie walk. Now that's a sight!!

(That's what a trainer called Reggie 'cause his poor little feet kinda toe-out!!)

We don't mean calling OURSELVES that 'cause we're the "Westie Terrors," but we mean all of the Eastern U.S. Westies should be called EASTIE WESTIES -- We wouldn't want to hog such a cool name!!!!

DOG STROLL UPDATE ! ! !
I'm very excited about it. I did find out today that it's being held at Cobleskill College on June 14th from 9 a.m. to noon. Need proof of rabies shot. Maximum 6 foot lead. They said you CAN walk more than one Westie as long as you can control it. (ha ha ha).
So far as I know, it's a $10 donation. My feeling is, also, that if any one cannot attend but wants to contribute, we can make sure your donation is counted in. You can either send donation to me, made out to Animal Shelter of Schoharie County or I will get their address and you can send it directly to the shelter. (Just for fun, put "from friends at The Terrier Club" on the memo line of your check --- they'll go "HUH????"
If you e-mail me, I'll send you my home address.
Please hold off on donations until I find out the exact way the check should be made out.
And, oh yeah, it's called a "Dog STROLL."
It's gonna be so much fun --- any more takers? I've told them that Kinsey, Katie, Reggie and Roo will be there. We welcome anyone else who wants to come. Maybe some of you could double up on a motel room!

I wish I could see 250 to 300 westies at once. I think I would go into convulsions of Westie-hysteria! I flip out when I pass the milk-bone box with the Westie on it when I go to the grocery store or WalMart! I can't imagine a gathering like that. I sure wish there was something like that close to where I live!

Since we are going, I would need directions, and some hotels in the area that would permit a dog to stay. Also, the time I should be there.
I can't wait. I thought would it be too expensive to have a t-shirt with Terrier Club on it?
Does anyone know of where we could order them so they would all look alike? I think this would be a good idea, what do you all think?

We would love to join you! It's not definite yet, but we sure are thinking about it. We got the map out to see just how far it is from Bethlehem, PA. If it's not too long of a drive, we might take a little week end holiday...never been upstate NY before.
Also, checked the Best Western (pet friendly ...and outdoor cafe!!!!), it seems like a very nice place. Where is anyone else planning to stay ? or, do you all live close by? I'll check back with you Cheryl when we know for sure. Alot depends on how Nick is feeling and how long the drive is. It sure would be fun to meet all of you!

I live 2 1/2 hours away, but thought I might be staying overnight. I e-mailed Cheryl to ask what hotel/motel is close to where the walk will be.
It would be great if you could come, would love to meet you and MacGuyver.

Linda, I checked a couple of websites and used MAPQUEST for directions...we are about 4 hours away...not too bad. Nick is teaching summer session I so he is a little busy at that time, but it would be a nice weekend break...and he is thinking about it...MacGuyver and I are working on him!
The Best Western that I mentioned is supposed to be close to campus and it looks nice from the pictures. It would be great to stay at the same place.
And, yes, I would love to get together in the chat room.

Hi Linda and Sandi. Yes, that Best Westie (oops, Western). is not far from the campus at all. Of course, I've never stayed there, but I've heard it's nice. I live about 3 miles from there. Oh gosh, let's get in the chat room some night soon!!!
