Navy Ships
It's been hot here all week so a couple evenings ago we decided to go for a little boat ride to cool down. These Navy ships stopped by the Astoria Port on their way to Portland for the Rose Festival this coming weekend.
Security is high so they blocked the docks access plus had a Policeman standing on the dock with a rifle in his hand. Patroling around the ships was a Police boat to make sure no one got too close. We were escorted by the ships in both directions. The last picture is just a shot of Astoria from the River. Pretty town, huh?

Astoria is a beautiful town, We love visiting there, so much to do. My husband was stationed there while in the Navy. There is no longer a Navy base there. The ships are on their way to Portland and the Rose Festival. Beautiful shots Kay, You are lucky to get to see the ships like that.
