Re: Asheville Terriers
I'm going to ask mom to come on here and post some directions. If I tried to give you directions, you'd probably end up here in Ohio. :-)

Re: Asheville Terriers
I went to North Mills River Recreation Area yesterday so I could give you specific directions. Exit 40 off of I 26. Turn towards airport on 280 W. Start counting red lights. You will be going to the 5th light. You will travel 3.8 miles. Turn right towards N. Mills River. Travel 4.9 miles to the split rail fence on your left. Turn left into parking lot. Get an envelope at the bulletin board and place $3.00 in it. Put the flap in your window. They check often. The board says animals must be leashed. The picnic area is on the parking lot side of the river. There are also toliets, but no covered area. Across the foot bridge is a tree scattered meadow . There are no picnic tables or shelter there, but room for erecting tents, or running areas, etc.

Re: Asheville Terriers
Brittany, when is the second interview? Hoipe all goes well for you. It would be nice to have you in North carolina.
I came here three years ago from just south of Buffalo, New York. Love it. I was in ASheboro the last 2 years and got a job in Guilford County schools last year. The pay is better in the counties.
hope the interview goes great, will look forward to seeing you in Asheville on the 19th. Too bad MayAlice and Ed can't make it, she is such a nice person. Met her last year along with carol and Herb of the Petey and he wigglebutts fame. They had Babe with them, and we had a great time. It'll be like seeing old friends again who have never seen each other but know each other , if that makes sense. Have a good week and see you the 19th. Let me know how the interview went. Mary.
I'll look tired but happy. This packing is for the birds.

Re: Asheville Terriers
I can't be there, guys. Juggie's having a little surgery on Friday and I need to be around for moral support and general step-n-fetch it. Have fun. Take lots of pictures.
Brittany -- does your interview at a school in Asheville mean you guys aren't moving to Ohio?

Re: Asheville Terriers
We're already in Ohio - we've been here for two years now. And the job interview is up here as well. I got called in for a second interview, by the way, whatever that means. I'm hoping it's a euphemism for "dress professionally so you'll look nice when we offer you the job".

Re: Asheville Terriers
Britt, Thanks for the instructions on Mills River. You mentioned there isn't a covered shelter, which is fine, but are there picinic tables? Or should we bring our own chairs. Well, I have a fold up chair in my car anyway, but just wondering. I am handicapped and can't walk or stand for very long.

Re: Asheville Terriers
On one side of the river there's a big flat field. On the other side, there are lots of picnic tables. I would definitely bring a chair to sit in though.
