Back On Safari?
Because of torrential downpours, Safaris have been limited this winter. We have been relaxing and just hanging out inside the compound.
One day mum was cleaning up the tent doing the usual chores with Johnnymac following. I was in my sleeping bag; just another day. Mum finished up and went into the latrine. Next thing I know she wakes me up asking me if I have seen Johnnymac! "Uh, No." She's been gone half an hour and she lost the little brown dog? She looks at me again and asks me where is Johnnymac? "Like I care?" We start to go through the tent looking for the little brown dog. Every corner was searched. Mum even went outside and checked the compound gates, they were locked. Did someone get in the compound and take him? Yeah, I'm thinking a giraffe reached over and snatched him up. Oh well, he was fun while he lasted. We went into Gramm's room and asked her if she'd seen Johnnymac, she just giggled; no help. We called and called his name but no answer. Mum is frantic now and putting her boots on to go outside the compound. Where could he be? As mum goes through the canteen she remembers taking the trash bin out from under the sink and emptying it. Something draws her to the cupboard. She opens it and pulls the trash bin out. Who walks out but Johnnymac! Geez.
Today the sun is shining, think me and the brown kid will go outside!

Where are yoo going then Kip...I getting my bags packeded and also my hats and bino's and I have a fishing net as yoo knoow,also I need some of them shorts and jacket wiv lots of top pockets in.I also got some plastic tubs to put live insects and gwubs in in case we need a snack on the way!

Only need one pair of pants cos we can jump in the mirage water and get clean. We would like one of those vests with all the pockets to keep our cookies in. Any body who wants to join us is welcome. The camels are getting watered and we got some wee tents. We are going across the Sahara to the great Pyramid!

Come on Budman, we got tents, you can share with Jack, er, uh, well, unless he brings Jolly, but she might have to sleep with the girls. Hey, what's a little rain. We'll find the Mirage just past the Sahara and see if we can find the Barbary Coast Then we'll ride over to Ceasar's Palace and work our way to the Great Pyramid. Johnnymac is getting all our COOKIES together cos Ellie's bringing coats with pockets. According to the map, there are loads of watering holes in between each stop.
Bring a rain caot and some COOKIES. Bring that little flea bag you have over there. We can use him to look in small holes!

Did you get anything good to eat in that cupboard? Glad you were found and your mum figured out your hiding place.
One time I got into the closet where my food bag is kept...thought I could steal a few kibbles with out no one knowing.All of a sudden someone closed the door on me.I wasn't in a hurry to get out.I was having a feast.
Us Cairns are soooo smart.We know how to get our rewards.
Keep dry there and have fun camping out.

Oh Golly Gosh Kipster I doony knoow how to get on the Camel...Is there a secwet password to get them to lie doown so I can scwamble onto the saddle? also I neededed my stirrups shortening,I wunder if I get Suckie to swing on the tail will the camel lie doown then? I got soo many fings wiv me as well,I got my Dark Glasses in case it spits at mee and I got a big headscarf soo the sand doony blow in my ears,Mummy says I have to beware of sandstorms and aslo it can get up yor nose and make sneezes.
Well I Got you all some infatable Pillows soo we can blow them up before we go to Beddy Byes,It be softerer for us ..I fetcheded 34 of them cos I did not knoow how many of us there would be coming..I cud always give the spare ones to the Camels,Has my camel got a name and is it a boy or a Gal..Its a long way up thar to have a look!
I get my self sorted in a minute and share my fud with evewyone,I got loads wiv me.

I think if we get that ladder over there we can get on the camel. I don't know if it is a gal or guy, how do you tell with a camel? Do they get their bits taken away? We'll have a fire at camp tonight and maybe we can tell ghosty stories, aaarrroooo.

The camp, night 1
Whooooaaa, camels. Okay, this is where we set up camp for tonight. Let's unload Suckie and the camels, get a fire going and put the tent up. Petey and Jack can put the tent up and the rest of us can get the fire going, that way the night ccrritters stay away. I learned that on another safari. I brought my lobster stuffie so no worries about scorpians. Okay, let's hurry it up so we can have COOKIES and tell ghosty stories when the sun goes down, it happens real fast oot here in the desert.

I Have a Spoky Story...
It's called....
"The Cookie Monster"
Once upon a time a little terrier decided to go on an adventure. He dug out of his fence and headed for the forest but not before grabbing some cookies for his journey. He was having a great time chasing tree rats, rolling in poop and digging holes. All of a sudden he heard a strange noise in the forest, it sounded just like a vacuum cleaner! The little terrier looked and sniffed and then he saw it! An overgrown vacuum cleaner with big red eyes heading straight for him! He dropped his cookie bag and hid behind a tree. He watched in horror as the big vacuum sucked ALL his cookies up. Of course, being a terrier, he went to confront the cookie thief even though he was scared (he won’t admit that but we all know he was just a little.) “Give me back my cookies NOW or I’ll tear you apart!” said the little terrier. The big vacuum just gave an evil laugh and said “I’m the almighty Cookie Monster, to be feared by all, even you little terrors! Now, run home and never return to my forest or else I’ll haunt you for the rest of your life and steal ALL your cookies!” He gave a big, loud “VROOM, VROOM” while rushing towards him and the little terrier ran all the way home.
A few days later, the little terrier’s curiosity got the best of him and he returned to the forest for another adventure. He was only in the woods for a few minutes when he heard the cookie monster approaching. “I warned you and you didn’t listen. You are now cursed and I will steal all your cookies plus cookies from other dogs using the extra power I receive from your stolen cookies. Now, run home before I suck you up too!” The cookie monster raced towards the little terrier. He stood his ground until the cookie monster grabbed a few tail hairs. Then his brains kicked in and he ran home.
To this day, the little terrier doesn’t get ANY more cookies and it’s his fault why vacuum cleaners steal all cookies that us other dogs hide under the couch and bed!

The Viper
Okay here's a story. A buch of little Terriers were home alone and the phone rang. One of them picked it up and someone on the line said, "I am the Viper, I am three houses away, wooooo". The Terriers got all scared cos they didn't know who the Viper was but he sounded spooky. Then the phone rang again and a little Terrier answered. The voice said, "I am the Viper, I am two houses awaaay". Now the little Terriers are really getting scared. The smaller ones are started to shake with fear, who is the Viper? The phone rings again and a Terrier answers, "I am the Viper, I am ooone house away". OOOOOO, the Terriers are frightened and running around trying to hide. Suddenly the doorbell rings. Everyone looks at each other in fear. Arooooooo. The oldest Terrier decides to be brave and open the door. He looks and there stand a German Shepard! eek. The big dog says,"I am the Viper, do ya want your vindows viped! hahahahahahhahaha. Okay Johnnymac you can get off my lap now. hahahahahahhahaa
