Re: Top of The Pups! Vote for this post Reply to this Message

We gave this a couple minutes of deep thought, and came up with these...
For Daisy it was easy, A World War song called what else...Daisy Daisy.
For Sissy another easy one because Mom sings it to her all the time...Sugarpie Honeybunch. We think Clay Akin has a version of it out.
For BeeGee there's The Most Beautiful Girl, by Charlie Rich. Her name is Beautiful Girl.
Another one Mom sings to Shasta, and boy does it fit...Funny Face, by Donna Fargo.
We hope this is what you want because that's what we came up with.

For Lynda's Rio, Rio by Duran Duran from the 80s (I loved them as a teen).

I guess Mia has "Mama Mia" by Abba, but I tend to change the words to songs with the name Maria. Such as, "I just met a doogy named Mia, and suddenly I found that unfamiliar sound, Mia, I'll never stop saying Mia." And Santana's "Maria, Maria" is now "Mia, Mia". can you tell I sing to her all the time?

Mom found a musical made from a book called " The Little Princess". And there is a song called "All Girls are Princesses" It's a very pretty song...just like me...hehehehehe.

Author Michael Hjort and composer Camille N. Curtis based A Little Princess on the Frances Hodgson Burnett classic children’s novel of the same name. It is the story of a little rich girl, Sara Crewe, and her struggle to survive in a London boarding school during World War II.

Picture you upon my knee
Just tea for two
And two for tea
Just me for you
And you for me alone
Nobody near us to see us or hear us,
No friends or relations
On weekend vacations,
We won't have it known, dear,
That we own a telephone, dear...

Day will break and you'll wake,
And start to bake a sugar cake
For me to take for all the boys to see.
We will raise a family
A boy for you
And a girl for me
Oh, can't you see how happy we would be...

We found this one, too.

Little Sir William

Easter Day was a holiday, of all days in the year
And all the little school children went out to play
But Sir William was not there

His mother went to the school wife's door
And knocked at the ring
Saying, "Little Sir William, if you are there
Pray let your mother in."

The school wife came to the door and said,
"He is not here today
He is out with the little school children on the green
Playing some pretty play."

His mother went to the river bank
That was so wide and deep
Saying, "Little Sir William, if you are there,
Pray pity your mother's weep."

"Oh how can I pity your weep, mother
And I so long in pain
For the little pen knife sticks close to my heart
And the school wife has me slain."

"Go home, go home, my mother dear,
And prepare my winding sheet
For tomorrow morning before eight o'clock
You with my body shall meet."

"And lay my prayer book at my head
And my grammar at my feet
That all the little school children when they pass by
May read there for my sake."

Re: Top of The Pups! Vote for this post Reply to this Message

Mom found one for me...finally...It's from the movie...Pete's Dragon

He's gone that-a-way
He's went this-a-way
He's up a tree I think!
Oh Petey, Oh Petey...
Where are you?
Please come back
Oh Petey, Oh Petey...
You're like a son to us
We miss you, We miss you
If I get near him you can bet I won't miss him with this.

I'll cook you cake and gingerbread,
Bring you tea in bed on a tray,
We'll slave while you go fishing
You'll get permission to run and play
These tears oughta show you I care
Come back, by cracky we'll share
The happiest home in these hills...in these hills!

Gonna snag him, gag him, drag him through town
Put his head in the river, let the pup drown,
Trap him, strap him, wrap him in a sack. Yeah!
Tie him screaming to a railroad track.

We'll have you sing in chapel
You'll be the apple of Momma's eye
I'll tend to all your sowing and do your mowing
So just rely on me
Dang, we know you're out there
It's late, we're waiting to share
The happiest home in these hills...in these hills!

Gonna paw him, claw him, saw him in half,
When he cries out for mercy we'll just laugh,
Beat him, heat him, eat him for dessert. Yeah!
Roast him gently so the flames won't hurt.

We'll swim and you'll go camping
You'll be a champ in your own backyard
Our love is overflowing, it keeps on growin'
You'll sleep good knowing you're home in these hills...

We're gonna string him from a tree
In these hills
We're gonna sting him like a bee
In these hills
We're gonna spill him on his head
In these hills
We're gonna fill him full of lead
In these hills

I think the song for Barney would be 'Send in the Clowns'

Willie's would be 'Sunshine' by John Denver.
I sing this to him when he is sunbathing.
'Sunshine on my fur makes me so happy.
Sunshine on my nose makes it turn black'
