Our new guests
Well, we have 2 guests, like dad said in the other forum, 1 slim black female, (Marian) and 1 grey-striped, (Shamus) cat. They look like they would be great playmates, but dad says we have to take it real slow. Mom and Dad set up a room for them, can you imagine a room just for cats. In the doorway dad installed a tall gate, it has a small entryway big enough for the cats and too small for Max and I to get thru.
Well it was time for introductions, Shamus made it clear he didn’t want to have anything to do with us. That is his loss. Marian was different, I think I may have a new friend in time. Marian didn’t like Max, but he still acts puppy like, no restraint, and always-full speed ahead. Then it was my turn. Marian was in the window and dad said she was a bit shy and I had to be real nice and go-slow. So I got up on far end of the sofa and just watched her watching me. I started with one slow step towards her then another. Dad was on the sofa with me and was stroking her to keep her calm. I finally got close enough and we both sniffed and touched noses for a second or two, after that I backed up and went around behind her. I again approached slowly and I sniffed her from behind, well for some strange reason she didn’t like that and moved off into her guest room. I go to the gate from time to time and poke my nose thru, Marian will come close and we watch each other. Then max will show up and she moves away. I need to have a talk with max and how he comes on so strong. Dad was so pleased how I acted that I got special treat of some barbecue chicken he had fixed for dinner.
I hope in time Marian and I can be friends.

Thats wonderful of you Bailey to make friends with Marian and w eare sure you will be best buddies soon,Do you think Shamus and Max will become friends?!!

That's nice you're being good with them. Mine are fine with them if we see them at the V place. It's when they run that they hate 'em !!
