Looking for a Cairn T and Travel to China
We are looking for a Cairn Terrier. Any suggestions on the best method to find a good breeder or owner? We travel to China a lot and want to take him/her with us. Has anyone done long-distance travel?

Four years is OK as long as he will understand he's not to pull a doggie around and that it will need space... XXX.

Re: Looking for a Cairn T and Travel to China
Micheal and Daniel it has been a long time since you posted so I don't know if you are there anymore. I don't think travelling back and forth to China with a Cairn is going to work very well. My mom tried me in a carrier that would fit under an airplane seat. If you cut off my head....and tail....and legs....THEN I would fit. So that means your adult Cairn would have to go cargo. When you travel with a dog that dog will be in his crate from the moment the baggage handlers take him, maybe 2+ hours before flight time, through the whole flight, any connecting flights and then the time to get off the plane, through the airport, to a pee place. What if the flight is delayed??? On a flight to China from North America that would be like...I don't know...36 hours!!! I think this is cruelty to animals. My flight to Iceland was 6.5 hours, plus 2 hours before checkin plus 2 hours or so to get to quarantine. I did not like it!!! I had flown before in Canada but that was shorter and not so bad. I don't know how I am going to get off this island but my humans will be leaving in a year. I used to love my crate, now I won't go in it even to eat unless no one is around!!!
