The Minkies At Their Old Park Vote for this post

Today we visited our old park-walking pal Edie and our park we used to go to when the Minkies were puppies. Here are some photos. This one is the boating lake. It's sad to see it in such disrepair as it was a thriving little lake with coloured boats at one time.

Love those palms Lynda amd your friend looks very young for 85 years old. So ice that her head is still sharp. You look mighty sprite yourself. Never knew you had red hair before.
Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Here's me with Edie. She's 85 and still has her all wits about her. She's great fun. It was lovely to see her.

Wow, your friend, Edie is a very young 85 yr. old! What a blessing for her that she can walk her dog and get around.
Must have very good genes.
She looks great!

Another park view. Very green there right now but not too muddy as yet. This section usually ends up flooded.

Another sad thing was that the miniature railway has gone. The Minkies are on the tracks here but they're mostly pulled up and gone now....it's a real shame.

So nice to see both of them and that they are allowed to run loose. Moshe would love to walk in a park like that.

I love this picture! Too bad they can't lay tracks again and have just a little trip around the park/area for kids or something.

This here's a wee sunken garden. When Sparky was a small puppy it got waterlooged one time and she threw herself into it thinking it was a puddle. She got a HUGE shock !! Me and Edie still laugh and laugh at the shock on her face as she resurfaced !!

What kind of large bird is that, Lynda?
I noticed it in one of the pictures above as well.
These parks you have over in Great Britian are very lovely.
How are they funded to be kept so clean and tidy?
Lots of acres of beautiful country like settings.
I really enjoy the photos.
Thanks
Hugs,
Nancy :)

The birds are crows and they are pretty big and noisy too.
The parks are funded by the local councils who are funded by every household. Everyone has to pay a council tax.

I can see the resemblance!! I know what you mean. I am back in the town I grew up in for a few days with a childhood friend. We just returned from a trip to our side of town. It is so run down and sad. Nothing in this world ever stays the same and it makes me sad. I enjoyed your trip down memory lane though...

This is the house that the owner of the park used to live in many moons ago. It's now divided into luxury flats. He gave the park to the local people.

We really enjoyed your pictures of the park, and it was fun to see your Mom and friend Edie. The Minkies look like they had a nice time in the fallen leaves. My two have been a bit neglected lately, so I'll try to take them on some nice fall walks this weekend while we have Brinks and Tempest with us.

Cheers,

It's such a beautiful park, Lynda. Was this a planned visit with you friend Edie or did she just happen to be there?
Nice to see a picture of your Mummy too. You look like your Dad (I snared a picture of him with the Minkies years ago!) on the upper half of your face and your Mom on the lower half! How much longer is your Mom staying?
