I have changed the old meatloaf a bit.
Sister's MeatLoaf. I buy beef on sale, like a roast, sirloin tip, or something like that. I try not to use ground beef because of the fat and also not knowing just what is in it.
Basic. I have a food processor and after trimming some of the fat off I grind a pound or more of meat. I also grind in about 8 ounces of frozen green beans. For each pound of beef I put in a cup of (OLD FASHION OATS, dry ) I don't use the one minute ones because they make the meat loaf mushy. I add two eggs.
Now sometimes I remove the seeds from an apple and add this chopped up. I also add brown or wild rice WELL cook at different times. You can also use chicken, turkey or lamb. I change this by adding different veggies, spinach, fresh or frozen carrots. (except) the one for Faith. She has IBS so she gets hers kind of bland.
I have had three vets. look at this and all have said. We see so many Westies with skin problems or just not acting right. You have the best looking Westies when it comes to their skin we have seen. Keep feeding as you have been.

Boy did I GOOF up.
I forgot to tell you "The rest of the MeaLoaf." Heat Oven 350. Cover cookie sheet with foil that has been sprayed with non stick cooking spray. Have a large bowl ready, as you grind everything put them in the bowl. After all have beem added start playing, mix everything up really well, I use my paws. Then turn out on to a foil covered pan. Pat down till it's about two inches, smothing the edges in a square or what ever shape that best fits the cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for an hour. Cool and slice, My sisters and I get about half an inch thick slice twice a day with some other treats or what ever I cook up. Sometimes we get a Chicken stew topping.

Turkey Burgers.
Turkey Burgers
1 pound of ground Turkey 2 large eggs. 2 cups of cooked rice, any kind as long as it's well cooked. 2 carrots chopped very fine. 1 apple cored with skin left on and chopped fine.
Preheat oven to 375. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or foil sprayed with non stick cooking spray. Place all ingredients in bowl and mix until combined. Form patties about four inches across and almost half inch thick. Bake for 30 minutes or when tested they are done.
Now if your furkid likes some scrambled eggs for breakfast. You can scramble an egg and break up a burger, adding this to the scrabbled egg.
I did ask the vet about dogs eating eggs everyday when Faith only wanted to eat eggs. He said not to worry about them eating eggs.
So "Lets Get Cooking" and remember.... Well fed Terriers makes Healthy Terriers.

R-gang's Everything Soup,
Soup is one of their favorites. I brown lean ground beef, add the canned tomatoes, cut up rutabega, green beans(canned) spinach, and cooked macaroni. also cole slaw mix in bag. (its cheap and all chopped up, carrots in it too) they love this and actually we ALL eat this.
Tillie's adding this part She says to cook till veggies are tender.

Re: I have changed the old meatloaf a bit.
Morning! We were making meatballs for dinner and made a batch of meatloaf for Duncan and Darby. I used green peppers as they love peppers! After reading the soup recipe - I think I might top it with some tomatos when serving!
These guys are gonna be happy campers today!

Re: I have changed the old meatloaf a bit.
Ha! Yup, I'm debating what to serve Nana tonight myself. My only worry is that chemo is tomorrow and she's not a 100% herself today (eating a little grass outside) so I may wait till next weekend to try homecooking.

Re: I have changed the old meatloaf a bit.
Maybe some very find chopped up chicken with cooked rice? I use a meat like a bit of tip roast because I'm still very unsure of chicken for Faith and Phoenix.

The Girlies Favorite Topper...
The Girlies favorite topper... I boil a chicken keeping the breast for the kiddies. Skin and bone remaining peices, run through food processor with plenty of the broth. Cook 1 cup brown rice in 2 cups chicken broth. Chop 1 pint chopped green beans ( We use our own home canned.) 1 cup shredded carrots. chopped spinach 2 cloves garlic run through press. Stir vegetables into hot rice which will cook the finely chopped vegetables. Mix everything together with enough broth to make it a thick soup. Spoon over kibble and enjoy!
This is not meant to be a food replacement just a topper for their regular kibble. xxxxBetty and the Girlies...

Veggies and cheese !!!! I'm packing now, I love veggies, in fact I'll take veggies over meat 7 out of 10 times.
Mom here, this is why I have to make sure she gets her vitamins and minerals because she loves veggies more then meat.
