I'm Here!
Wow!!!!
Look at all my friends wearing their pinkies!
I am home and feeling pretty good today. I only took one pain pill so far today, so that isn't too bad.
The surgery went well yesterday, when it doesn't hurt so much to use my right arm, I will tell you about this interesting procedure where they stuck a wire right inside my breast, pretty interesting.
I am bandaged heavily on the right side, so I feel like half of Dolly Parton. That big bandage will come off tomorrow, so I will feel a little more balanced.
The surgeon said she took a section of tissue, the size of a breakfast sausage out. I will go back next Friday, and then find out the pathology report.
Thanks again for the great showing at Loyola, it is back to the couch for me now.

tkae care Barb, I remember my Mom goig through this, the hardest part was waiting the week to find anything out.

Oh, yes, the famed wire. I just love the name for it "needle localization". Mine was benign and I had a lady waiting with me in the room while they were doing the eight mammograms, the last two with that wire sticking out. The reason is that they want to make sure that they cut in the right place and do not make unnecessary cuts. I got my results right after I woke up. I guess that it was obviously benign (thank God). Now, I have been a bad girl and have not had a mammogram in the last two years. Got a script for one and everything. Better make my appt.

It was hard to keep my mind on my business -- what with R Gang in monkey bandannas and me with one around my neck, too. But I did it! Anytime you need to send somebody to do a good butt kickin', just say the word. I'm just the dawg to do it!

Hope you are doing well, Barb. I had the wire procedure twice. The radiologist is not in the same place as the surgeon. They sent me out with a lab coat and a styrofoam cup to cover the wire- just lovely!

That is exactly what happened to me! A giant cup over the needle, taped down with a whole roll of tape, then my hospital issued nightgown to cover. As they wheeled me across the hospital I felt like I had a hood ornament!
