How the duckie collection started
It started soon after I adopted Willie.He was the kind of rescue boy that responded best to soft voice and gentle handling.Before he went to his foster home his previous owner kept Willie outside,he was unkept and had several scabs on his body from being bit from the three other dogs he lived with.I was ready to give Willie the gentle care he needed. He had fears with bathing and that is when I first introduced Willie to his first ducks.He was comforted by holding one in his month while I bathed him.Holding on to it pretty much through his entire bathtime.After a few baths with his ducks he stopped trembling and started enjoying getting bathed and groomed.This is the first picture taken of Willie with his ducks.The collection started growing.Mr.Willie now has about 50 duckies in his collection of toys.
His favorite one to carry around this week is a
soccer duck.
I will have to stop shopping and collecting. His luggage on wheels is full.So that is how it all began with Mr.Willie and his duckies.

We remember this photo. That Willie is just the sweetest boy ever. He does have the start of a nice collection.

What a nice Mom you R Sandra. to ease his fears of bathing with a duckie toy. He's such a doll. I think you should make a Willie Calender with his duck collection.

That is just about the sweetest story!!!!!
(Of course, we here LOVE rescue stories).

Your Mom is one smart cookie to think up a way to make baths easier on you, Willie. We didn't know your story either. We like the Willie and his ducks calendar idea too.

Thanks for sharing how Mr. Willie's duckie collection got started. That is so sweet that he held his lil' duckie in his mouth while you bathed him. Must of been really comforting for him, and so smart of you the think of a way to make it easier for him. Only a Mommy would know those things...right?
The story really touched me, and that photo is a POW, if ever I've seen one!
