Traveling Adventures
What a move we had! All in all things went great but I was VERY stressed out which made my Blood Sugar mess up. 1st we spent the night with my hu-brother and family in Vancouver, Wa. 2nd was at Mom's Uncle's house in Redding, Ca. 3rd was a motel in Southern California. Traveling in the car was fine cause I have always done that but I wasn't too sure about all the other places.
This is a picture of me somewhere in the Mojave Desert. I tried exploring but it hurt to walk on that sand, the small pebbles and stickers. That desert was sure a LONG way from my Ocean and about as different as 2 places can be! Captain Elliot

Traveling Adventures
On the way through California we stopped for some fresh picked oranges and grapefruit. We took lots of breaks for me to get out and stretch my legs. I enjoyed checking out all the new smells. You should see what the dirt looks like in Oklahoma!!! It's RED. Even the water in the ditches run red from the dirt. Mom wonders how Oklahoma Westies stay white. Mom's sister lives in Tulsa so we spent the 5th night with her. When I first got there I KNEW her cause she and Mom are so much alike. She does have a C.A.T. (with claws) so we had to stay away from each other.
This is a picture of me in Tulsa thanking God for green grass to cool my tummy on. Glad to be out of the desert. Elliot

Re: Traveling Adventures
For the next week we stayed with Mom's oldest sister in Arkansas until our new house was ready to move into. I knew her when I met her too. In fact, I had to look between both Mom and her to figure out who was who!!!! Their voices sound almost identical! Well, Aunt Cheryl's voice is WAY more southern sounding than Mom's but I bet that changes in the near future since 'southern' was Mom's first language! tee he hee.
This is Chewy, a Yorkiepoo. He is 4 months old and weighs 3 1/2 pounds. I could sneeze and blow him over but he wanted to play. It took me a little bit to figure out how to play with such a little fellow but we had fun.

Wrestling with Chewy. When I wasn't playing with Chewy there was always other family members coming and going to play with. I settled down and became quite comfortable at that house. I got to visit Grandma in the country and chased lizards and other critters out there. It sure is hot in Arkansas! The thunder and lightening didn't bother me at all either.

Traveling Adventures
Moving into our new house was about as stressful as moving out of our other house. The neighbors dogs wanted to meet me right off the bat. 2 were golden labs and 1 a black lab. The younger golden didn't like me at all and tried to run into our house while she was growling real mean. Her owner got her before she got to me then we decided to do a meet and greet with the 2 friendly ones. That went well and Ms Grouchy seemed to calm down & even wagged her tail. Her owner was still holding her then all of a sudden she jumped out and bit me in the face! White hair went a flying so I went back into the house. Mom checked me over and the corner of my eye was bleeding but she didn't see a puncture wound. My eye got better over the next couple days.
Other than the fact that my 'grass' is prickly and has stickers in it to where I limp or hop alot, I LOVE my yard! A mole has softened lots of dirt back there so each morning I go mole digging while the grass is wet. That helps the dirt to stick to my long hair! Oh, and we have a nice sand pile to dig in too tee he hee. There are also these burr things out there that knot my hair up. It takes at least 1/2 hour each morning to comb me out after I dry.
Mom thinks because it's a privacy fence, I'm not guarding the yard but actually enjoying it like a normal dog does. I explore for hours out there and don't even bark.

Traveling Adventures
Needless to say, Mom got tired of all that grooming each morning so off came my hair. I'd get dirty throughout the day too but it didn't stick to me like it does in the mornings when the grass was wet.
Here I am with my new do, in my new living room with my new view! No more window seat for me cause this window is just my size. I sure am happy to have my belongings around me again.
Now it's time to catch up on the TC. We don't respond often but do read most of what is posted.

Re: Traveling Adventures
Your pictures tell us just what a great adventure you had moving. It is amazing how different places can be, isn't it. It looks like you found a really good place to live and your Mommy has a great place for you to look outside--every pup needs a good looking out window. We are glad that the move went so well.

Re: Traveling Adventures
Elliot, You have had quite and adventure the past few weeks. We LOVED your pictures and hearing about the different places that you visited. We are glad that you are getting settled in your new home and getting used to your new yard. Sounds like you will have fun chaing the little lizards and other little Arkansas critters. We have some little lizards here that Lily Belle LOVES chasing. So far she hasn't caught one yet (we hope she doesn't, they are so cute). We hope you enjoy living in Arkansas and look forward to hearing more about your adventures there. By the way, you look terrific. Hugs, Patsy and Lily Belle
