My Camping Trip
Here are a few of the pictures of the camping trip I took with my son, his wife, and Abby and Eli. We had a most wonderful time. Off to Dollywood and Cade's Cove and then some days just relaxing. I missed my little girls and was going to take some pictures of them coming out of the farm, but my son was so gracious to pick them up on the way home so they wouldn't have to stay an extra night. I figured with 5 dogs (they have a Westie), two kids, three adults, and gear plus an almost hour drive from the farm with a camper on the back, I wouldn't push my luck by getting my camera out.
The pictures weren't the best as the weather was cloudy and rainy and the lighting wasn't the best. I hope you enjoy them anyways.

I had been messing around with my camera earlier and put it on manual and crazy me didn't change it back, so this picture didn't turn out very well at all. But, I think you will still be able to see the turkey.

We saw several bears while we were there. The next several pictures are of one we saw. We watched it for awhile and then it decided to come down. Here are some pictures on its way down.

While we were driving we came upon a lot of cars pulled off to the side of the road. When we got out, we discovered why--there were three bears asleep in a tree. The next three pictures are of those bears. You will see them asleep with their legs dangling. One is of their bear paw.

We really loved this little sign. I took the picture so I can frame it for my grandson's room. His name is Elijah (Eli) and their Westie's name is Oliver. This is the sign for the Elijah Oliver Trail Parking. His room is in a camping theme with bears and outdoors things, so this sign will be perfect.

My sweetheart, Abby, with the little monkey she got from Dollywood. She decorated it with jewelry I got her. She chose the monkey because her daddy held a monkey while he was on a missionary trip to Panama. He had a picture of it, so that was her choice of all they had there. After seeing all of the bears in Cade's Cove, she also ended up having to get a little bear.

Eli and Abby in one of the little cars at Dollywood. They loved these little cars and we probably rode for miles in them. They also loved the ferris wheel and merry-go-round.

Zowie! What a great vacation. Our fav photo is of the squirrel (naturally) and mom likes the bear photos. We think they are beary scary! Thanks for sharing.

Great pictures! I just love seeing all the wildlife in Cades Cove. You must have a really good camera. I hope you weren't as close to those bears as it looks! Your grandchildren are adorable. I know they had lots of fun :)

Thanks. We love Cades Cove! We actually were pretty fortunate to get fairly close to the bears. The ones that were sleeping in the tree were right at the side of the road. We were up on a bank right on the other side. The other bear was just inside the woods and we were able to walk up into the woods to see it. It sat in the tree and ate for a long time. There were alot more that we didn't get as close to. There were several times we saw a mother and her babies. I have pictures of them, but the babies are small in the pictures.

Great pictures! I loved seeing all the pictures of the bears and the other wildlife. The Smokies are one of my favorite places to visit. I LOVE it there. Sounds like you had a lot of fun on your vacation.
