You Can't Go Home Again
I guess Thomas Wolfe was right in his novel which is as old as I am. The reunions of familys or school classmates, etc are always anticipated in our minds to be so much fun to relive again. the little hometowns we grew up in don't look as big as when we lived there. It's comforting to see the familiar houses, the school, the stores. but did they shrink in the years we were away?
we look forward to the family or class reunion later on. we can hardly wait to see our old friends and their spouses and kids. a fairly good turnout and we delight in hearing about their lives since we last spoke. many are missing. some we see 'passing by' by not coming in to say hello. some come in but only listen and don't join in. Makes some of us sad that we can't be that once complete family again. even for just this one time. for maybe we won't pass this way again.
It's true, we can't go home again. it's not the same or will ever be again. Time moves on. the new generation do things different. but it's their place now. we treasure the years we had together. then one by one we went our seperate ways, but our hearts carry each and every memory.
Thanks for taking time to stop by and visit on the TC Reunion. and Thanks for the Memorys.
and so it goes........
Bless all our sweet Terriers who brought us together way back then.

Re: You Can't Go Home Again
Thanks Fran for trying to bring us all "Home" if but only for the holidays. I did intend to come back but had some major issues that left little free time. Time has moved on, but the memories made here will never be forgotten. I still think of your kindness with the "memory garden flower" when Ms. Taffy went to Rainbow Bridge. I wish one and all the best for the coming year.

Re: You Can't Go Home Again
I am sad too that we didn't see more of our old friends here for the reunion Fran..It was a good idea, but I suppose too much time has passed. We can be comforted though by the many fine memories we have of those days. Carolyn, I often think about you, and wonder how you and your family are doing..Ms Taffy taught us all about the Terrier spirit. Betty and the Girlies...

Re: You Can't Go Home Again
I'm so sorry, Fran. It hurts my heart...I had so hoped that this "reunion" would work. I know how much it hurts you, as it does me.
Some will just never forgive, and some have just moved on in their busy lives, I guess.
But...thank you, sweet lady for trying....we love you for that.
Hugs, Jeanie, Jolly & Annabel

I wasnt complaining.....
sorry if I came across as complaining. I was merely making the comparison about all reunions. be it class reunions, family reunions, etc. we all get the invite. some of us attend, some don't. it isnt a requirement that you attend. reunions arent meant to pick up our past and begin again. thats what memorys are for. which is what is meant by 'we can't go home again'. and do we really want to? lol I thought we had a nice TC reunion. Sure we missed many others. some we all seen lurking but chose not to stop by for a quick hello. some who said they'd be here, but only read our posts. but you know, thats okay. because the ones who count were here.
Thanks again to Mark who brought us all together. He is a treasure!
Love You All Fran

Re: You Can't Go Home Again
Oh, Fran....I didn't see it as complaining at all. I could just read your sadness...and I felt the same way.
My girls bring joy to my life...pretty much the only happiness I have. I cherish the people I have met on this website, and only wish we could all reconnect.
Thank you for trying...you are such a sweet lady!

Re: You Can't Go Home Again
I have just posted below - I really enjoyed "catching up"! I too was hoping that there would be more, but there may be some others that are just late like me! I'm sure that some who haven't been on lately didn't even see this and at some point they may just pop on for old times sake! Well, must go - as usual I'm up late and have to get up early - I'm on one of the earlier shifts tomorrow. I'll just take Sammy out for one last pee and then it's off to bed! She's starting to grumble and tap my leg so I'd better move! Have a good night and good day tomorrow! Bonnie and Sammy
