History of Andrew Vote for this post

We saw Andrew on a Rescue site in South Wales..he tugged on our hearts...I was looking into Cairns still and partly found one privately but lets say, there was a bit of a clause in us having him plus he was a 3 yr old, anyway Andrew ended up in a pound and sadly some are put to sleep unless the rescue centres can take them...he is one of the lucky ones..nobody came forward for him as an owner so the centre Microchipped him and did his inoculations and checked his teeth which are fine,we were told he was 6 but on his rescue card it states 4+ so there that is,but his teeth look quite young and clean,he has certainly lived in a home as he is very food orientated in the kitchen or wherever food is...almost like he has been given far too many titbits and treats, ouside he is full of himself and will sniff and scent with gusto!...I showed him a soft rabbit toy and he shook and shook it so maybe in his life also he has hunted...hence Stig he for sure is not playful minded..at  least Stig is careful and knows whats what with  other dogs and time will tell..its a shame winter and dark mornings and nights have come but never mind at least we have him out  and safe in a forever home.he was covered in fleas  so had a bath and no fuss in there, almost like he had been in a bath before..then we took him to the vets the following day and got Flea treatment for him Nimby and Stig ,we were intending to get him a soft bed for floor in bedroom but..as you can imagine...on he jumped and looked sooo happy to be laying on a soft bed with his owners and Nimby also sleeps on the bed...its like having a 3rd person on there at the moment with his big Body!!LOL...he is on a diet but a nice one...it has taken a while to get that weight on so it cannot drop in  an instant...so all in all good news and hoping Nimby will have a play one day with him...they run and zoom togethrer and I hope she is at least enjoying having company if a little bemused by his funny actions at times..he also barks so they alert each other...he is very bright and clever like Nimby and does not miss anything  going on around.....so his past we know little of  but do know he seems very happy now.Hugs to all and Prayers for all those puppers who never get another chance of life hereon this earth with a loving home.Annie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

We are so happy to read that he seems to feel at home Annie. It is always a ajustment. Westies are smart and we are sure he will loose some weight with lots of movement in THE yard and walkies.
So glad he has such a loving home now.. Love,Moshe,Levi and Yoka

It sounds like Andrew was well cared for by his previous owners
I wonder why they gave him up, he is such a good boy
I'm glad Andrew and Nimby get along together
and I hope that they soon play together.

Ah Annie, Andrew's story may never be known, but at least he seems to have some good memories to go on. We know he'll make many more with you and praying that he and Nimby and even Stig can get on together in time. Nothing worth having comes easy, and I know you have the patience and love to turn things around. We keep you all in our prayers and send positive thoughts to all of you. It's going to be an adventure, and we're looking forward to hearing all about it!
Love to you all, Deb, Emmie Sue, and Angel Kelsie

It sounds like he was well cared for. Maybe his owner/s died and the family didn't want him? That happens sadly more often than not. Can you get canned pumpkin there? A bit of that in his food will keep him full and help him lose weight. Mischief didn't like it and he might not either if he's used to meat treats. Thank goodness he found such a loving, caring family. I'm glad to hear Andrew and Nimble are getting along and Stig knows how to keep out of the way.

Oh Annie Andrew is such a lucky boy to have found a home with you and Nimby Sue and your family.  Sounds like he had a good family at one point in his life and you may never know what really happened to him.  It sounds like Andrew fits right in and is happy in his new home.  Love Louise, Caesar and Murphy at the Bridge

He knows he's found a good home!!!  Sounds like he's just right for all of you and he will adjust. Nimby Sue will get him playing - it just might take a while for him to get used to it.  Sooo happy for you all.  Please send pics as you can.
