I'm thankful for all of you Vote for this post

I hope it is ok if I post another update about Molly.

We our vet's help, we have been tinkering with her anti-inflammatory and narcotics dosages and it seems we finally have that into a good pattern. She has slept normally the last 3 nights, and during the day she is a happy playful girl.

I know she feels the growth in her mouth - when she yawns, or sometimes when she barks, she twists her lips funny on that side. But she is not in any pain, and she is happy.

We are also visiting the Cornell Veterinary Hospital on Monday to talk about palliative radiation (?). My understanding is that this would be a radiation approach that is not as in-depth as the other option, but should slow down the growth of the tumor and buy us some more time.

I don't know how I feel about that. I don't want to cause her any undue stress or any pain at all - but my vet told me she may actually feel better with this approach (?). Again, I have no idea what to believe - but we'll go to the appointment so their cancer specialists can examine her and we'll see what they say.

And I'm trying to crawl out of my emotional funk. This has been a brutal year, and a particularly horrific last 2 months. So I keep telling myself that 2016 HAS to be better, and in order to promote some positive emotional flow and gratitude in my life, I have decided that every single day for the rest of 2015 I'm going to stop and reflect on one good thing.

So today, my good thing is the people here at the Terrier Club. It fills my heart with joy to read all the posts on here. Good people, giving sweet dogs a good home. Every dog I see here lives in a safe loving home, with people who make sure their animals' lives are valued. I only wish all dogs could be so lucky.

So thank you everyone, for helping me through this and for being good people who care!

Ah Patti, we're just a bunch of like minded people who happened to fall in love with spunky, lovable pups who have managed to wrap us around their little paws and when we weren't looking, they stole a big chunk of our hearts! Even after they're no longer with us, that piece of our heart goes with them and their memory lives with us forever.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and Molly. I have heard great things about Cornell and if they can buy you more quality time with Molly, I say go for it! As long as she's happy and "doing her thing", that's wonderful!
Love, Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie

That is wonderful news that the last 3 nights has been good for Molly. The world is not without wonders.
You must be thrilled that she had good nights 3 in a row.
So happy for you both and I know you must be sleeping better too now.
I hope you will get some good information from the specialist and you and your husband can decide what to do or not do. Just remember we are all here for you and continue to pray for your Molly.

Our Moshe had 4 cyst in his mouth last year. I did not know he had that many but after medication it would go away but than a few days later it would pop up in another place on his gums.
Our vet send me to a dentist specialist.
She only could see 1 cyst at that time and he had to have surgery . She needed to put Moshe asleep to take some good Ex Rays of his mouth to see what was going on . She called me that he had 4 cyst and 4 of his front teeth had to be pulled out. I was in shock and crying like a baby. Like you Patti I am very emotional. I was so scared we was going to loose him .
He is 14 years old now eating fine & drinking a lot too.
Our walks are smaller now he is also turning blind and I know his hearing is not the best anymore but we are so grateful he is still here with us .
Moshe has had many surgery's over the year and one of his enzymes was way out of wack. It came down some but was still way too high. Moshe needs to have another test done soon.
Please keep us posted how your sweet Molly is doing Pattie.
 G-D bless you,
Yoka,Moshe & Levi

Of course it's okay.

Good to hear your are getting some sleep again and Molly too. Ask many questions on your visit and then take a day or two afterwards to consider your options.

Will be thinking of you both on Monday.

Patti so glad to hear that Molly is sleeping better.  I have heard many good things about Cornell also so I do think it it worth a try.  If they can slow down that tumor Molly will have much more quality life for longer.  This also would be good for you too because you will have a better quality life also and have more quality time with her.  Keep us posted.  Louise, Caesar and Murphy

Patti thank you for the update. Just to let you know I think about you and Molly daily. I use to go to the University of Penn in Philly when I bred Welsh whenever we got a problem.
I hope this helps and makes Molly a little more comfortable.
God bless you .

Patti, I was so happy to see your uplifting post. Brought a smile to my face to hear that Molly is getting restful nights and happy days, I believe you and the vet have found the key to giving Molly quality at this time. I'm looking forward to hearing how your appointment goes tomorrow and praying the palliative radiation will give both you and Molly more quality time together.

hugs Theo
