From Patti and Molly Vote for this post

I got a message from Patti, will copy and paste it here, I know you are all anxious to hear
.

I'm home! Molly is acting good. But the tumor is getting huge. It's broken through the skin under her eye and oozes. It smells bad. I don't really care per se - just what it signifies I guess. But thank you for checking on us.

I can't get on the TC from my phone - will have to wait until I go back to work on Tuesday. The tumor is disfiguring her poor little face. She was so happy to see me she got playing hard and hit it on the ground  - and then got sad because it hurt. She's sleeping now. But again, thank you for caring my friend.

Poor we girl... my heart aches for Patti

Update From Patti and Molly Vote for this post Reply to this Message Reply with a quote

An update this morning from Patti

The tumor is growing fast now. It is killing me. She is not in pain. In fact she is playing with her ball as I type. Her ears come up and her eyes are still happy. But the tumor is so large and oozing. I cut all the fur away (gently of course!) so we can keep it from getting too much of a matted mess but wow it looks horrible. Little bit like the elephant man on that side. It's grey and the size of a plum. But I still can't take her in. She's truly happy. So I keep telling her she's such a good pretty girl and she wags back and gives me her happy look. It's not time yet

Since the tumor broke through the skin couldn't the Vet manage to drain it.

It is so sad they are on my mind a lot and praying for them both.
I also wonder if they drained it if it would shrink.
So glad to read that Molly is still happy with the pain medications. Pattie must be a very strong lady too..
G-d bless them both.
Thanks for posting this Theo.
My heart goes out to them.

Theo, thank you for posting my update.

I ran in to work and got my laptop. I dropped a bunch of stuff off at work when I got back in last night. But I woke up this morning sick. So I decided I wanted my laptop here in case I'm still too nasty to go to work.

For some reason I can't post here from my iPhone. I log in with my password, but as soon as I try to hit submit it tells me I'm not logged in. I then put my password in again, but for some weird reason it doesn't seem to save it - just keeps telling me I have to log in.

Anyway, Molly is a heck of a lot tougher than we ever gave her credit for.

As far as the tumor - there is nothing to drain. The tumor itself is a solid, growing, piece of crap mass. It's not a like a cyst, filled with fluid. The oozing is from her skin, above the tumor, as the tumor grows and pushes through the layers of skin it's causing the skin to break down.

Just an hour ago, she was playing ball again. Butt up in the air, barking, and arooing. So as horrible as it looks, she's not ready to go yet.

I promise all of you I'm seeing her with clear eyes. I'm not making her hang around out of denial. This girl is still happy, and we're not going to take her in just because she looks like hell  - she's got to tell us when she's had enough. And she's still playing ball, so we're not there yet.

I also promise I will let you all know when it finally does happen. I can't imagine it will be too much longer...but then again, I've been saying that for something like 2 months now!

Anyway, thank you - for caring, and for hanging in there with me. What a long, weird, sad journey it's been.

Our terriers are tough! I'm glad to hear Molly is still happy and playing ball as sick as she is. I'm glad you had her through the holidays and I know you love her enough to know when the time is right to let her go.
