Max Vote for this post

Thursday morning Max who had been fighting a chronic cough for 3 years and was deaf and blind his hind legs colapsed, we took him to the emergency part of his vet specialists and we're told his lungs were only partially working and causing not enough 02 in his blood. The Dr.  told us 2-3 months at best with him having breathing problems getting worse. It was a very difficult decision we let him have 5 of his favorite Doggie biscuits and went to the Bridge to be with Sissy who left just 6 weeks ago.
He just went to sleep and was better than having  him go from heart failure in the middle of the night.

The house now seems empty after almost 16 years of chasing 2 Terrior all day

John

John, my deepest condolences on your loses. That is an awful blow to lose two sweet pals just six weeks apart. You showed Max how much you loved him by setting him free from the pain, the very hardest thing for us to do, but the kindest.

My heart goes out to you,
Hugs, Theo

Yoka, this is not John and Irene.  At least I don't think so.

This John is from California.  John and Irene are from England.  (At first I thought the same as you.)

So sad for anyone who has lost a beloved pet.

Oh, bless your heart....We are so sorry to hear the news that Max has gotten his wings. I'm sure that he and Sissy are having a grand old time, but that doesn't lessen your heartache...Keeping you in our prayers and thoughts. We know all too well how empty a house can seem when there are no tiny paws running across the floor and nobody waiting to greet you when you come in the door...God speed Max, say hello to Angel Kelsie for me!
Love, Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie

Oh my gosh John, what a horrible day you've had.

I am so very sorry for your loss.

I know it isn't any consolation right now, but it sounds like you gave him a wonderful life. He spent his entire life in a safe loving home, knowing he was loved and well-treated. Maybe he missed his Sissy and decided it was time.

Thank you for taking such good care of him. I kinow those decisions are horrible and eat at your soul for a long time......but from where I sit, you made the right call.

John I am so sorry to hear about Max
and then Sissy, too.
You made the most loving decision an owner can make
You let Max go on to the Bridge where he is running
free and healthy again.
I know you are heartbroken right now
but I hope you will get another terrier, soon.

I am sad to read you lost both Sissy and Max. Tomorrow is the anniversary of our dear Mishy's crossing the Rainbow Bridge and I know she'll look out for her fellow Cairn and show him the best food and the best spots for chasing critters and the sunniest places for napping. My thoughts are with you.

John, really sorry to hear about both Max and Sissy. I know how you feel I lost my 2 within 7 weeks late last year (aged 16 and 14) even though I also had Maddie she was about 14 months at the time it was devastating and so quiet around the house.

John,
It's so hard to lose just one furkid and you've lost both in such a short time. You have my deepest sympathies.  When my Elliot passed it only took me a couple weeks of the empty house and I was at the shelter getting my Bichon Frise, Bullett.  Never can our pups be replaced but caring for and training another helps.

Forever Elliot's Kay

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Max. The decision to let them go is so heartbreaking. It is the best thing we can do for our lovely little friends. Quality of life is number one for our buddies and when it gets bad there is no other choice.
Run free at the bridge little one!!!!!

Love Sir William ^--^ and Allen and Boomer at the bridge

We are so very Sorry John and know how hard and sad it is to make the final decision,we have been there but to lose 2 puppers in such a short time must be so much more devastating..we know it will happen one day but  it will never be easy...if it was it would have meant we never cared or loved them, please know you are in our thoughts and Prayers and now Max is with his Sissy over the Bridge and I am sure watching over you...we Blow soft warm kisses to them both...we hope in time you may find a rescue or another bundle of Love to share your home,Please let us know how you are doing....Hugs Annie and Gang xxxxxxxxx
