Allen, you are so sweet. Thank you for caring and for thinking of us.

She is still not in any pain. Thank God for pain medicine. It's kept her happy for more than 2 months now.

Her face and eye are getting pretty disfigured. That is heartbreaking. She kicks at the tumor occasionally, and if she gets any blood on her paws then she'll lick at her feet compulsively.

She is still happy. She was dancing around and play-bowing with the neighbor's dog this weekend, trying to get them to chase her in the snow. She barks at us to play with her every night. She is still eating well, sleeping well, but does seem to be getting more and more preoccupied with the tumor (kicking at it, then licking her feet)...

In other news, it sounds like we will be picking up our beloved new little baby girl Allie a week from Saturday! 2 months ago, when all of this started, I never would have thought there is a chance Molly would make it to meet her little sister. And now here we are, less than 2 weeks away.

It's been a weird, hard, strange ride since Molly was diagnosed. I have been blessed to have her with us this long. It has allowed me some time to process losing her, and to make sure she knows how much we love her. First I worried about losing her over Thanksgiving, then I worried about Christmas, then about my trip to NYC....and here we are. So I'm trying my hardest to stop worrying and just accept what will be, will be. So many of you have told me she will let us know when it is time, and I believe that is true.

She knows the phrase "Daddy's coming" means Steve is about to come through the garage door. We've been telling her "Allie is coming", and she'll tilt her head and glance at the door. She knows it means something but she's not sure what. I would like to hope she's going to hang in there to meet her new little sister, and to show her around our neighborhood, teach her a few things...but whatever will be, will be. The future is not ours to see. Que sera, sera..... (sorry if I've got you humming that song now. It's become something I sing to myself, to sooth my soul I guess.....)

God bless you and I know how hard it must be to go through this. I am sure when Molly finally has to go to the bridge she will know how much you did for her to make her life a happy one.

Wishing you guys all the best.

God has his own time table and all we can do is accept it, and go with it. Enjoy every moment with Molly and know that we are all keeping you in our prayers and thoughts.

Wow that has come around quickly. Please don't take this the wrong way but puppies can be full on so watch her carefully, I know with Maddie even in full health Izzy can try her patience, the first day Izzy was quiet and not in her face but by day 2 1/2 she was jumping on her, biting her on the face and tail. I kept Maddie separated from my older 2 of a night so they could have a break from her it's only now she sleeps out where they did and only because Izzy needs to be confined. Maddie has the patience of a saint. lol I'd forgotten how rough they can be, Maddie was never that rough with my older two then would never had stood for it but I guess Maddie is just that bit younger and will accept it.

Just to add some of Izzy's favourite toys are the inexpensive simple things; egg cartons (empty of course) loads of fun for her (Maddie loves them too) you should see Izzy right now. The cardboard from toilet rolls are also a favourite. She doesn't actually swallow the bits just chews them. She's a character.

plastic bottles minus the top and ring around the top are a great toy as well. I always watch her but she has heaps of fun with them. Maddie does too.

Thank you so much everyone.

This morning Molly was walking around, barking, and moving just like her old self. Her facial expressions (on the good side anyway), her attitude, her carriage....she's just regular old Molly. She has a special little spring in her step that we see when she's particularly happy, and she had that spring this morning.

She is one tough old girl. Well, that - and narcotics. Whatever it takes. :)

Diana, wise advice. Thank you! You could never upset me with well meaning advice, and I agree with you. Molly and Allie will never be alone together - we will have them under close supervision at all times. Molly isn't crated when we're not home anymore. (She's never been a chewer, and since she's gotten older all she does when we're not home is sleep anyway.) But Allie is already crate-trained, and we have a secure dog pen we will leave her in when we're not home.

I can't wait to have a puppy again. I'm so looking forward to the energy and happiness that they bring. :) But yes, I well remember Molly's puppy days and I know they are a handful. So we'll monitor them very carefully and I won't let Allie bother Molly. Thankfully there are 2 of us, and 2 of them - so the math works out ok for us. :-)

Patti, pleased to hear it, some times the written word doesn't translate as well when read. You are lucky there are 2 of you. I don't use crate training but do confine Izzy to the laundry by the way of a baby gate overnight and while I am @ work during the day. The rest of the time she is out with us in the kitchen area again with a baby gate.

My older 2 weren't chewers but Maddie she was a shocker, she would try and chew on the woodwork around the doors, the framework around the windows, the edges of my coffee table, the knobs of my cabinet, little bugger, I managed to deter her with some bitter tasting spray. Izzy hasn't been tested as yet due to being confined. I also replaced my vertical blinds with roller blinds (I was going to do it anyway) but when I saw her fascination with them I did it sooner than planned. She would have had a lovely day pulling on them and pulling them down when I was at work. Although my older 2 did a good job of reprimanding her when she was doing something she shouldn't. She seems to be much better now.

What wonderful news that Molly is still eating and playing.
She sure is tuff and amazing.
Am so happy for you both and hope Moly will meet her new sister.
Still praying for ou both. Was so worried when I could not check up how she was doing and both of you too.
Had big computer troubles and just had to change back to Windows internet. I have a Vista computer and Google Chrome no longer support it. Here I sad with magnifying glass trying to reset it back. So far I guess I am doing OK but it is much slower.
Thanks you Patty for all the updates am delighted to read that Molly is still doing well ,eating etc.
Hugs and love to all three of you and G-D bless you.
