UPDATE Vote for this post

ROO UPDATE: Our boy is doing well. Compared to the last time he had Lyme Disease, this recovery is much slower. But he's only about 2 weeks away from being 15 years old, so I am not surprised. Yesterday, he had his best day in more than a week. Today, he seems more tired and not as active. He probably wore himself out feeling good! But I'm not worried. (Also, last night, Trip and I had very restless nights, and I think that was affecting his sleep, since he sleeps right next to our bed and I'm sure I disturbed him a few times. I finally got up at about 3:30 A.M. and he and Trip slept another 3 hours.)

So I had a consultation with the vet's office and I suggested that, if it is OK with his vet, I'd like to see him on Doxy for another week as as prophylactic measure, and they agreed, and we'll keep him on meds for one more week.

Thank you all for your continued good wishes for our precious boy!

Glad to hear Roo is feeling better. Yes they certainly take longer to bounce back the older they get.

ROO UPDATE:
He will be starting his second week on Doxycycline. He has improved on it over the past week, but slowly. Mostly, I think, due to complications of natural aging. He doesn't appear to be in any pain. Is able to jump into his window-front bed without help or a step stool, appetite is good. Life is good! I thank you for all your love and concern and good wishes!

What a great news about Roo doing so well Cheryl!
It takes humans too longer to get well when they get older . This is great news.
