CPCRN: Spoke with the Matchmaker! Vote for this post

This has been such a wonderful experience. I cannot say enough good things about CPCRN and their knowledge, responsiveness, how they operate. I highly recommend CPCRN to anyone.

There are several Cairns (and even mixes) that I am considering... I am working closely with the Matchmaker, and receiving updates from the fosters. The dogs that I have an interest in are not yet ready to be released from their foster homes for various reasons. That's ok... I have both time & patience. But there are several really good prospects already.

I will keep you posted... It may take a while. I appreciate having Terrier Club to post how the process is going. This is an understanding group, and full of loving members who are so knowledgeable about terriers! I appreciate each & every one of you for your support. And I really hope that you don't mind that I post about the process so darned much! This is such a huge deal to me, getting another dog. Seriously... Thank you all.

How exciting! I've been following them since incorporation and I've learned so much from their amazing volunteers. Since you just lost Charley, maybe it is better to wait awhile. It will also give you time to join the Cairn Rescue Mentoring list and learn all about Cairns. I'd have my eye on Rigatoni if I were able to adopt. He's a cutie and sounds like he will make someone a great little companion. IK also loved Muzzle Tuff. Though I really have a soft spot for seniors. Sir Henry, the one eyed pirate Cairn, captured everyone's hearts and found himself a forever home. https://www.gofundme.com/colpottersirhenry

Little Rigatoni found his forever home! Lil' Punkin'
Thank you for sending such a wonderful response... Somehow the right pup will find & adopt me.

For now I just try to tempt all of the pups with my own version of "sad eyes!" :)

We are wonderful aren't we!!! lol

Not at all it's always exciting when one of our members gets a new puppy or older dog.

Do you get a choice or do they chose the one that they feel is best suited to you?

Good luck :)

It's a collaboration in finding the dog that will thrive best in my home... A collaboration between me, the Placement Specialist (I.e. Matchmaker), & the Foster. We all put our heads together to figure out which dog is the one.

And yes, you are wonderful! LOL

do you get to meet any of the dogs before you make a choice, or only when the choice is made?

I don't think I will meet them first, because they are all so far away.

Fair enough Teresa, I am sure they will find you one that fits into your family well. Do you have a choice of whether it's male or female?

My 2nd Westie Hannah was chosen for me as I lived 2+ hours drive from the breeder, she made a good choice for me.

Ah Teresa, you couldn't post too much about an addition to your family! Heck, we're like "relatives of the perspective parents"--so darn anxious to hear all the news and waiting patiently (well, I don't know about patient, LOL) to hear which pup you get! Where terriers are concerned, there's nothing that we aren't interested in!
