Disappointing news... Vote for this post

My sister took on Zharli a breeding dog (not a Westie) a few months ago and while I won't go into the specifics but the breeder took her back to breed from her (she only just had a litter of pups in May) and the breeder will now be keeping her. She was a lovely little dog. I suspected something was up. So I guess now my sister will be looking for a companion for Ryley, he has Mollie for company until Mum and Dad return in mid October. Big thumbs down!!!

So sorry to learn this happened. Zharli was such a sweet looking girl.Way too soon for another litter. Having my own experience with a breeder backing out of an agreement to keep her stud Dog I know your sister must be absolutely crushed losing Zharli.

So sorry to hear this Diana, when we lost Emma our Collie I was offered aCairn boy but the breeder wanted to see if we would let her have him back to breed from if she desired in a few years time...we refused!..did not want a situation like that...I forgot to reply to your question further on my post about Nimby and Andrew playing...they do not play although not long after we got Andrew they bumped into each other at speed and had that fight which I quickly had to stop, they lay side by side and are fine together but always I just watch them...Nimby can be a wee Trouble maker I do know at times and they are both the sort not to back down..they ride in the carty together and eat in the same room...I think sometimes they do have a sort of respect for each other..just an odd moment though but more coming from Andrew than Nimby!!LOL..I do hope your sister soon finds a  wee companion for Ryley for keeps so to speak...Hugs Annie and Gang xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Sounds a bit like my Hannah she was the dominant one with Kelsi, but my current girls don't seem to have that issue which is great. In the car K&H would often go to sleep on the backseat and wake up to find themselves sitting so close together and then they would move.

Oh Diana that is just awful. So sorry for your sister and that little sweet girl. I did not know breeders did that kind of thing. That should not be allowed to happen. Louise, Caesar, and Angel Murphy

Oh so sad for your sister.
That is sometimes what breeders do, claim the dog for breeding
after letting them out.
I hope your sister can find a companion for Ryley.

The breeder allegedly made some claims about a tooth falling out, plaque, a burst anal gland (she was in season) and a yeasty ear but from what I heard treated them herself so there's no actual proof. My sister had her such a short time, fed her exactly what the breeder did. I personally feel it was just a whole lot of excuses to keep her. My sister would never neglect a dog and I know how quickly a yeasty ear can come up. Never again!!
